When the chips are down, you get to see inside of the souls of people. When times are good, we all wear the facade, acting pleasant with one another, tipping a hat, holding a door. But when things get hard, you get to see the guy who’d slam the door on a woman’s face, or stab another man in his back for a box of cereal. To a lesser degree, we get to see it here too, inside of the comments section, where all of the trolls reside.
For some reason, these people are jealous of me. I don’t know why, as I can’t think of any particular reason why one would be envious of my life. I live rather modestly, indulging myself on occasion with things that aren’t too absurd, and generally try to treat others the way I’d like to be treated. If I’ve ever mistreated anyone here it is because he or she earned it.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not asking for leniency. It’s not in your nature. I’ve never had any confidence in man, as we are a barbaric, backwards, species, always clawing at one another in the never ending rat race for dominance. You know, the bible and the ten commandments were invented because of guys like you, a bunch of Eddie Barzoons running around, out of control.
Now I’ve been kind enough to let you all in, as I’ve undergone the largest drawdown of my career, so that you could vent your misplaced anger towards me. But don’t come to the site, impersonating me and insulting people with childish remarks. That, I will not have.
As for the market, believe it or not, I just bought more EGRX and FEYE. Maybe I have a death wish, or maybe I like cheap stock.
Remember, cancer is right around the corner (extra ASCO).

I go all in either long or short (to do a split is too much of a hedge. One has already hedged by going in @ 10:30). Trade has to be in by 10:30 and the price is calculated @10:45 am and out by 3:50.
I have done my IRA this way for years.
I don’t have stats (try paper trade for awhile). Today I split 65% of funds between Russell 2X and S&P 2x long and stayed away from Emerging Markets 2X as it was weak on a relative basis. I look at various sectors to see how they are behaving before 10:30.
Not looking for HRs, just singles and being correct 3 out of 4 times a week and compound this 3/4 to 1% gain per week.
Stay away from Fed days and most market stats are out by 10:00. There will be an occasional intraday reversal but it is always a risk on occasion.
It’s kind of the way I traded Fidelity Selects in the ’80s (hourly pricing) and Scudder, GT Global , Franklin in the ’90s until they introduced fair pricing.
Ones day is freed up from staring at the computer.
I agree only decision is around 10:25 after that you just close it at 10:50 and forget. You can see the price at 10:25 so you have

Here is what I basically watch (besides the general indexes relative strength or weakness: SMH (good for NAZ) ,XLF (good for S&P), VXX (good portend for day), GDX (gold stocks), FXE (dollar for rates), FXY (almost a direct correlation for emerging markets).
Keep it simple.

I watch the gold stocks via GDX for a precious metals trade over night.
Basically, I watch for a move above the 50 day EMA and a turn up above the 30 RSI (14 day relative strength). I use a small amount the funds for this.

Yes, you obviously can, however, the temptation to day trade can be difficult to handle emotionally,
I believe my method avoids the emotions as well as the HFT intraday noise (which one will NOT win).
Its a not a get rich quick deal but a slow and boring equity up curve (with a down day here and there).
