Remember These Days

This is the best market of our lives. You will never trade in a market as predictable as this one. Many years from now, you will tell stories of this tape to your grandkids, who would have read about this era in their history iPads, curious about the people who were blessed with the gift of euphoria.

It’s euphoria in the morning, decadence in the afternoon, and hedonism in the evening. That’s all I have to say about the matter.

Have a great weekend.

The 90’s was wilder. This is easy peazy, with little to no volatility, aside from earnings

The mid-80s (before the ’87 crash) was exactly like this.
A steady and consistent up trend.
The post Kuwait liberation in the early ’90s was also like this period.
I agree on the late ’90s being wild and pretty much out of control with plenty of froth.

Yep, mid-80s you could hold stocks 2-3-4 years with 100-1000% gains not unusual.

True bull markets make middle class investors millionaires.

    Bear-o-meter gives it a 4.2 (that’s out of a possible 6.66 of course)

Repercussions consequences mayhem will abound from this market. Happy Friday!

Do you ever feel stupid for calling for calling a major decline every time you post? If you don’t, maybe you should. You are that guy that can’t see something happening right in front of his own face.

If this is like the 80s., it’s just getting started and you can expect another market double in the next 3 years.

maybe it’s just me but it seems like the market has slowed down so much over the past 10 years – in terms of time to react an such. No more crazy volatility or 4 days straight where you knew the market was going get beat like a red headed step child. The Ukraine – we had days to see it develop and then react. Perhaps I’ve just been trading years longer but it seems to almost be going in slow motion these days. Very predictable and even the surprises are not really surprises. Perhaps its just 5 years of bull. But I’ve got the feeling when the market starts moving flat, and then at some point heads bear – we’ll know it is coming. Don’t know if it’s the transition of the banks away from risk, the fact that we are still coming out of the 2nd Great Depression so the direction is up, or perhaps I’ve just become jaded. Things just have gotten so predictable as of late. I’m sure it’s that I’ve become jaded (but definitely not complacent), which is dangerous, and the rug will suddenly be pulled out from underneath me. But it sure doesn’t feel like that. Only time will tell. Until then, thoroughly enjoying this market.

Easy? Could be. All rational thought must be thrown out. If retard is easy then in total agreement. Not sure what other than buying SPY has been easy. Massive money picks a couple a sectors a year to manipulate higher. Biotech was dead til a couple years ago. Social media was fucked than manipulated higher last year. Easy in the room “they” decide to buy all at once.

TA is the only easy trade since 09. Charts. Fundamentals have meant nothing.

Crazy that there has not been a real bull move since Apple and the smartphone. The new bulls are free money horseshit. Fucking fuckbook is the new military industrial complex, Google as well. The dying boomer bull shit move. That is all there is.

suppose you are right. there have been others. the soft commodities has been an easy trade, shorted down until the 7th inning and long since the bottom. Especially coffee. Certain metals over the past 2 years – palladium comes to mind. The pipelines and the fracking/LNG boom. Biotech was a given with our aging population as you say and still should will remain strong. Perhaps sector rotation but trend following has not been difficult. As well as oil and oil spreads until recent months, although that was my original bread and butter. As for Google, buying at around 850 just a few months ago, I think in October, was pretty risk free. Apple has been in a pretty tight range and a relatively predictable trade outside of earnings. And hell, it now pays a 3% dividend. The IPO boom that started early last year – still going strong. But yes, easy in a retard sense for anyone just playing the indexes or even just shorting the VIX would also be an apt description. Or buying the penny weeds. Fundamentals have meant less – but that they mean nothing is a bit overboard I think. And trading charts is the main craft of the day trader, so yes, agree with that as well.
