Had one at Whole Foods the other day. I stopped by the customer service desk to tell them a package of meat had been left by a customer outside the case, getting warm. The girl looked at me like “huh”. I repeated what I said, and she started to laugh at me, no clue.
Imagine her home life, values, common sense and education. Interestingly, a lot of bad service business product quality is not because the employees intend to do bad job, it is because they do not know better. If people do it at home, they do it at work.
At Panera I saw a woman removing bread from the oven. One piece fell on the floor. She picked it up, blew on it and put it on the tray to serve. This is exactly what she would do at home.
