We were a bit frazzled yesterday over the specter of war. Howsoever, the moar war we get, the greater the accommodation from The Fed. Ask yourself, am I lying?
What was the net result from yesterday’s war talk?
You saw lower stock prices. I saw lower interest rates.
War equals flight to safety. What is safer than a US military base, backed by dollars and debt?
Exactly.
Do not fear war, but embrace it. It is exceedingly bullish for stocks.
In other news, TIM COOK lost again. Samsung announced their smart watch today, beating AAPL to the punch. I am eagerly waiting to explore this device and see if IMMR’s haptics is embedded in it.
With today’s purchase of ANGI, I am less than 10% cash.

thoughts on FRO after earnings today? Situaiton has not improved and management does not seem to be offering any sort of time frame / action plan.
Dont like it
so if FRO goes…who eats their lunch? I mean someone has to benefit right?
Boys over at SA crushing FRO..bankruptcy imminent without shipping rate correction..could they be right this time?
“Do not fear war, but embrace it. It is exceedingly bullish for stocks.”
The war over the debt ceiling won’t be good for stocks.
So, QE is bullish, war equals QE, and war equals flight to safety lol.
QE is war and flight to safety is bullish.
A well-penned missive indeed.
2.79% says QE is going bye bye….just like Ben B and one pissed off “I didn’t get the job so I will quit” Yellen. Larry S is coming and he is going to piss off everyone, lol. …..btw, What the heck was up with Miley Cyrus’s Tongue? That image was so strange.
Let me count the wars I have seen (with US involvement):
1. Vietnam
2.Desert Storm
3. Kosovo (via NATO bombing)
4.Iraq
5.Afghanistan
Vietnam did have an effect on the economy through higher inflation.
The others pretty much left the economy untouched.
This Syria bluster doesn’t even rate as a pimple on an elephant’s ass.
A few Tomahawks and Cruises here and there isn’t a war. It’s a break for Obama before he heads back to the golf course.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_cost_of_the_Iraq_War
Who said that he ever LEFT the golf course? He even had his dog flow in on a helicopter to join him and his family at taxpayer expense so he wouldn’t have to leave his vacation early.
It’s good to be King
my $$ still on aapl..
wouldnt IMMR have announced its haptic participation in Samsung new device(s)??
They wouldn’t know until product is launched. They do no deliver parts. They simply receive royalties, at a 99% gross margin clip.
Those are actual numbers.
gotcha…99%..thats some pretty easy cashe!! how can we attain such glowing information good Doctor??
I am trying.
Well, you can give reading the 10-k a shot.
Aren’t you heavily invested in IMMR Ray? Might behoove you to know how they make their money since it isn’t a “chart-based” play at this time. Don’t take it the wrong way.
“Automobiles and medical devices incorporating our touch-enabling technologies are subject to lengthy product development periods, making it difficult to predict when and whether we will receive automotive and medical devices royalties.
—
The product development process for automobiles and medical devices is very lengthy, sometimes longer than four years. We may not earn royalty revenue on our automotive/medical devices technologies unless and until products featuring our technologies are shipped to customers, which may not occur until several years after we enter into an agreement with a manufacturer or a supplier to a manufacturer. Throughout the product development process, we face the risk that a manufacturer or supplier may delay the incorporation of, or choose not to incorporate, our technologies into its products, making it difficult for us to predict the royalties we may receive, if any. After the product launches, our royalties still depend on market acceptance of the vehicle, the option packages if our technology is an option (for example, a navigation unit), or medical device, which is likely to be determined by many factors beyond our control.
We have little or no control or influence on our licensees’ design, manufacturing, quality control, promotion, distribution, or pricing of their products incorporating our touch-enabling technologies, upon which we generate royalty revenue.
A key part of our business strategy is to license our IP to companies that manufacture and sell products incorporating our touch-enabling technologies. Sales of those products generate royalty and license revenue for us. For the years ended December 31, 2012, 2011, and 2010, 93%, 88% and 75%, respectively, of our total revenues were royalty and license revenues. We do not control or influence the design, manufacture, quality”
Editors note: the reason “the gross margins [on royalties] are at a 99% clip(lol)” is because they are royalties, which is accounted as a COGS. 90% of ALL their revenue is from royalties. Even though acquisition of those royalties only costs them 4%, I’m not sure how it’s high margin considering that they spend ~52% of their total COGS is simply SGA, related to, umm, managing and collecting the royalties and not activities that produce new revenue (ie, sales team is only 18%, R&D 23%).
“Even if our touch-enabling technologies and our licensees’ touch-enabled products are ultimately widely adopted, widespread adoption may take a long time to occur. The timing and amount of royalties and product sales that we receive will depend on whether the products marketed achieve widespread adoption and, if so, how rapidly that adoption occurs.”
“Under the terms of our present agreement with Microsoft, Microsoft receives a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license (including sublicense rights) to our worldwide portfolio of patents…Microsoft has a significant share of the market for touch-enabled console gaming computer peripherals and is pursuing other consumer markets such as mobile devices and tablets. Microsoft has significantly greater financial, sales, and marketing resources, as well as greater name recognition and a larger customer base than some of our other licensees. In the event that Microsoft increases its share of these markets, our royalty revenue from other licensees in these market segments may decline.”
I’m sure there is more…
So in other words, IMMR makes no money from Microsoft….and never will….even though they use their technology? that’s a bummer
Matt, that’s how it looks, yes. On the bright side, MSFT never had a chance of making the next iPod anyway, so the hypothetical “but the next console…” argument never applies for them.
Sammy is their meal ticket

Docking occurs when two men (one must be circumsized) gently place the tips of their penises against one another, while the Uncircumsized individual will stretch his respective foreskin over the head of the other gentleman’s penis. But you already knew that

It dodged a bullet, but there is still a threat. If real, its target would be in the upper 45s.
Fly, you have developed a really, really bad QE habit.
Seek help soon.
(I know … banned.)
What I mean is, without the Fed pumping $85 billion into the market every month to keep it afloat , what’s your plan B?
no homo zone …please
