FLASH: Japan is Going ‘Crazy’ to the Upside Again

Both Japanese and Australian markets are off to the races. The Koreans (extra Ashley Schaffer) are tracking a close third.

Japan

On the home improvement front, my landscaper is at war with my arborist over a tree planted close to the house. He also states: “the idiots messed up the planting of another tree in the back”, which will result in “surface roots” because “that guy doesn’t know what the hell he is doing.” Moreover, he declares “the god damned wood chips from the stumped tree should’ve been removed from the turf.” Furthermore, he declared: “no grass will grow here, ever again.”

Stay tuned for Battle Landscaping at The House of Fly tomorrow, as the arborist is scheduled to make his case around noon, in the flesh and with convincing rebuttals.

I can only assume you’ll be wearing a robe and white powered wig for the affair.

I will preside over the hearings, declaring “good, yes, good” in between breaks of eating grapes and olives.

Don’t forget……..you should have a small servant girl holding your grapes and olives in a gilded bowl whilst you yourself cradle a fine Bourdeaux to sip between munching the fruit.
It will make a stellar impression on the tree climber. Guaranteed.

For some insight into the type of person you may be dealing with please see this….

Be aware though that most of the homeowners posting there seem to be only slightly above the level of Neanderthal man. 🙂

Why not find a contractor that offers both? My personal experience is it is much more seamless to bundle outdoor jobs to one company. If there’s two, I think it gives them too much leverage to blame one another. There’s not much to say if something gets screwed up and one company ran the whole operation.

May cost a little bit more, but I think the results, especially with trees and landscaping/hardscaping, are well worth it.

As an aside, what do you think on $ANGI here for the longer term play (12-18 months min.)?

I think there is a lot of growth overhead on the way to a more normalized 1.5mm starts sometime in 2016-17. Just can’t tell if it’s too pricey here.

That situation sounds like it could be wildly entertaining.

I am a member of PPT and follow all you have to say in terms of everything financial. I will have to admit I find your home improvement stories highly entertaining. Why the home network or whatever reality TV rag has not made your home improvement endeavors a series is beyond me. I love hearing about your home improvement projects.

Futures are higher, DAX is higher, things will grow where the tree stump was but it will take time. Maybe a year or more.

All of our tropical hurricanes are now coming to you – so why you would plant close to the house is a mystery.
