2012 was a splendid year for droughts. It marked the worst drought since the glamor of the Dust Bowl era. Regrettably, it has come to my attention that a great many of you junior traders have little to no knowledge regarding facts, history, common knowledge etc. I insist that you educate yourselves before coming to this site. Practice reading on lesser quality sites first, then come back here for the real deal.
At any rate, I’m going out on an apocalyptic limb here, going long MOS into the planting season. Farmers are going to buy up all of the potash and nitrogen they can get their filthy, manured, hands on. They need to ensure that yields are robust, especially after last year’s biblical dry spell.
Seasonally speaking, Ag stocks do very well in February. They outperform, plainly.
Other Ag stocks worth a look are TNH, CF, AGU and SYT.
