An October Surprise

You are not permitted to discuss politics anymore. Instead, we all get to “enjoy” the carnage of a classical ‘October Surprise’, whereby stocks get destroyed because they can. We’re set to drop by 150 this morning, following the fucked up pinless hand grenade action in Europe. Without a doubt, I stand to lose a spectacular amount of money this morning.

Also without doubt, this is a buyable dip. The market is simply following seasonal patterns. This market drought ends with the Turkey Gods splashing apple cider in the faces of the bears. If you have to stem the tide by selling, so be it. But have faith in knowing “The Turkey Gods” are coming and their powers are very real.

No one bets against stocks going into Turkey day. That’s madness.

Dips can be bought in basic resources. However, I am very worried about riding tech/retail into earnings season. As a matter of fact, just avoid earnings all together. It’s OTB guy gambling. Fuck that.

Don’t forget to check out the part about magic underwear (so I hear).
I don’t believe Fruit of the Loom has them.
Don’t think multiple spouses is a good idea (you need an even bigger house) unless you go to Legal Zoom and get some pre nups and even then….

Funny a month ago every GOPer I know told me the polls are all skewed by the liberal media in favor of Obama. Yet those same people have been telling me all week how Romney is now tied in the polls!
Exactly why I hate politics.

the media ‘creates’ an atmosphere so people read/watch their ‘news’

look at cnbc and count how many times they use the words ‘BIG’, ‘HUGE’, ‘MASSIVE’, ‘GAMECHANGING’ etc…its disgusting

seriously, count how many times they do it in any given week..you’ll be shocked

If we are lucky enough to drop the Dow 300 pts today, the CNBC producers will surely have a special market coverage show tonight – spooky music included and a tag line like… MARKETS IN TURMOIL.
