THE MARKET WANTS HIGHER

“The Fly” just got back from ushering the family around town, as it is his duty to personally escort Mrs. Fly throughout this great island of ours, for there are usurpers everywhere.

As you can see, the market closed sharply off its lows, setting the stage for a nut in nutcracker trading action tomorrow, unfortunately for the bears.

My TNA holding recouped much of its losses, as did the majority of my positions. As a point in fact, one or two of them traded higher for the session. All in all, today amounted to a 1.05% drubbing for yours truly. There are greater things to discuss, frankly, such as the deadline that looms to sign up for 12631 at “southern poor” rates. So you know, the Northern Masters at iBC will be introducing heinous price hikes in 2012, as it is our custom to do so.

Bottom line: the market wants higher and I would like to stop typing. Be on alert for more scare tactics on Twitter and be sure to tell such persons to “eat horse shit” when the market commences to rip off their tergum tomorrow.

Really? Just as long as it’s during January and February. We can always use the extra heat.

We will retaliate by sending boxcars and truckloads of snow and ice to the your fine states and dump it all on y’all’s lawns… 🙂

tergum, huh? not enough to be ripping off noses, punching off mustaches, etc., now we have to go for the tergum? I’m not entirely sure how one goes about that on a mammal, but I expect it involves ripping out the spine… it does sound like something Mother Market would enjoy…

This market is ridiculous. +/- 1% every day. If you make money on a trade, you have to sell it immediately or watch that profit become a loss.

I had a large position in NG going into today. I should have sold it on Friday, but instead rolled the dice. I got out at the open since I expected gold to continue to slide, which it did. I figured I made the right trade, until the stock rallied 4% out of nowhere!

I am not going to trade this tape again until we get some sign of stable trading, either downward or upward.

I think I nailed the short-term trend on Friday since the breadth indicators are all saying the same thing… going down. The market flushed out the shorts yesterday, only to gap down strong again. I say the market continues lower for the next few days.

Basing this on breadth trend indicators, and nothing else. They are usually right though, since they represent all stocks across the entire market. Breadth trend is what breadth says it is.

Some signs of stability? You mean like $VIX gapping down below its 200-day moving average? The message being sent by $VIX is that the long volatility trade is dying and it is safe to leg into long positions here for a holding period greater than a day.

I sold my ERY for a tidy profit and I hope Cain did the same because if we go up tomorrow I’ll be looking to buy it right back. All I have to do is check The PPT and it’s like clockwork – a 3-day hold at best for maximum profit potential. I was thinking today felt like a BS selloff, not sure why I thought that but I did. I didn’t see Jake selling any of his PM holdings inside the PPT either.

I read somewhere on Timmay’s site about today and the next two days being quite bearish for gold. DGP is starting to look very interesting when we do stabilize. I was also surprised how well AG held up while silver cratered. No position in either right now.

fuck them is right. as the lead driver on the relocation from the “tower” to their present home in hoffman estates,i can tell you with much assurance, that the reason why they moved from downtown chicago,to where they reside now was for the same reason, they didnt want to pay the taxes, when the tax break expired. and now 20 years later, they are doing it again. it’s complete de-jevu. downtown the tower is on around a half of city block.in fucking hoffman estates, they got 800 acres of fucking land. fuck them.

I disagree. I think the market WANTS to go lower. People want it to go higher.

    However, same difference

So they will get it higher. But it doesnt have to crash to reflect a HEALTHY lower value

      Dr Funk,

The reason is (in my humble opinion) all these money managers and hedge funds get together on certain stocks (AAPL, GOOG, PCLN, WYNN, etc) and coincide their purchases.

They then proceed to buy massive quantities, positions that can take weeks to build (even if they do buy 10,000 or 20,000 or 40,000 shares at a time. They do it methodically, so as not to push the bid too high.

The natural marketplace is now distorted, in a way. It isn’t natural, compared with typical retail orders, and the ebb and flow of a normal order flow.

      Good luck.

PCLN is a perfect example. it wants to go lower, the chart says lower, the PPT says lower, and the stock really tried to go lower, even on up days last week it dove a few times there.

I am not going to get in the way of these bulldozer buyers, when I see them step in on the tape, I know I need to get long.

So, unless we have am massive gap-down, we go higher.

And with pcln, the range has been so well defined. It is maybe borderline collusion without actually being actual collusion.

The ‘leaders’. Well recently NFLX and GMCR breakdowns, AAPL has started to show tiny weaknesses.

You’re right though, creates a floor regardless of how artificial. However a game that will only work for so long in a bear phase

Let’s see what Europe does overnight, that should set the stage, as of now, futures doing the slow build again tonight.

If Europe takes a break from yesterday, and our lead from today, maybe we will gap-up.

Asia looks rough, but then last night Europe opened higher, then tanked immediately.

They say the ECB’s Draghi is going to make a speech soon, I think he might loosen things up after being beat down by his peers all week.

Langone (Home Depot) and a couple of other
dumfuks are on Squak this AM,saying “We (GOP)
have two viable candidates, Newt and Romney.
I think Romney has a better chance to win, but he might not beat Newt in the primaries”.

How did these clowns become billionaires, if the don’t know that the Republican clown procession is just Kabuki Theater, and the supposed “current leaders” like Bachmann, Perry, Cain, and Gingrich are only stooges to make the public think that APPOINTEE Romney hasn’t been officially selected?
