LET’S ROLL DICE

Before I get into it, let me just say I am thoroughly impressed by participation in the iBC Blogger Network. In just one day, we have over 130 new bloggers signed up providing content. If you want to be heard, sign up and compete. Eventually, I will be rewarding A list bloggers. Also, if you link up your Twitter account to the blog, you stand to gain many new followers, as we auto tweet your blogs on our corporate account (18,700+ followers) with your twitter name.

iBC is a force not to be fucked with.

For the sake of fantasy, let’s assume the crisis we just endured, the China scares, the Euro gayness, were nothing more than bullshit. Again, imagine yourself in 2006 and the global growth story is in hyper speed, flattening bears along the way. After this gicockulous run, what stocks are still cheap?

For the most part you want to be long companies with high ROE ratios, one of my favorite gauges to determine if a company is well run. Then you want to compare FPE’s and PEG ratios of companies in the same industry. Lastly, go listen to the fucking conference calls or read some research to get a feel.

Here is my “best case scenario” “Fly in wonderland” list of stocks that will rip chest hairs off the bears.

AGU, NOR, KRA, HUN, FCX, DE, CNH, CPE, WLT, BTU, SWC, X, WLL, HFC, OMN, SOA, SID, MTL, TS.

Lastly, I am thoroughly impressed with TEA. Think of TEA as GMCR without the accounting scandals, selling the shit Asia likes to drink via retail stores. I will do a complete post on TEA this weekend. If they execute, the stock trades to $100 within 2 years.

A great man once said “Gentlemen: you have undertaken to cheat me. I won’t sue you, for the law is too slow. I’ll ruin you.”

Yours Truly

Here’s the thing — the meltup is only just now about to kick off. NO shit. It really is. Everything is aligning, and we are about to experienced FORCED BUYING not unlike some sort of cosmic anti-equivalent to margin liquidations.

I know as much as the rest of you do that the market shouldn’t keep going up after running up a gajillion points in 30 days. AND YET IT WILL DO SO.

Any and all tiny dips will be murderously purchased. Hell, there might not even be any dips.

I make no claims for after Turkey day, but from here until then, we will get 10% – 15% more on the upside.

sheesh Huggie, that’s a pretty bold prediction. Frankly, we’ve gone from being very oversold to very overbought and I am looking for the market to take a breather for a week or two.

        Huggie/Flyaway:

The kink in the deal could be that Germany can’t raise the 1.3 Trillion, China is saying they might contribute 50-100 billion (with very harsh attached conditions)

Then again, the zombie buyers could come out.

A lot of gaps to fill today!

      @xxxHuggieBearxxx

I agree. High tide is coming in, but just like waves in the ocean there will still be ups and downs. For example, today. (Fri oct 28th.) The market hasn’t opened yet and I can already tell you that today will be a v or a u shape, but mostly a neutralish day with at the end of the day it ending higher than it started. However, it will look like it is going down for at least an hour if not a couple.

Monday the stock will go up, and I can’t predict accurately out far enough but Tuesday will most likely be a down day, even if it isn’t down by much.

remember, the effin GDP number has TWO revisions coming and they are always (magically) lower than the original

Q1 ending up at .8 after the first report of 2 or whatever it was

Also China PMI was flash the real number coming up may be softer

            Dr Funk-

They rarely revise upward, do they?

I think those numbers have a lot to do with the executive branch, and politics in general.

China is in a slow contraction.

Copper went up today based on China, and one of the big miners (FCX) have not even been able ship and process ore because of months-long strikes at their mines.

Also, they don’t seem in a real hurry to make more based on the last earnings conf. call.

Either way, after today, we need to correct, IMHO.

            Good info D

I should understand the formulas better. What gets me is the first Gdp runs in news headlines all day, becomes a rally reason, then months later the real number is “backward looking” even though the impact wouldve been much diff.

A problem with China is they measure Gnp in production not sales. So if they make something it counts! Doesn’t matter if they sell it… Or if someone consumes it… Nice

The strikes would explain further the FCX weakness

I would humbly offer that the numbers being put forth by our government are full of shit…..for lack of a better phrase.

And China? Let’s just say they don’t practice the same “generally accepted practices” as the rest of the accounting world.

But then, what government does these days? It’s all smoke and mirrors. This Euro deal especially.

    Raise Taxes, Cut Spending

The Canadian Wheat Board is going to lose its monopoly on Canadian wheat and barley sales soon, according to the new Conservative gov’t. Other grain companies stand to gain a lot of business but many of them, like Cargill and Richardson, are private. Viterra is one of the public ones. Its share price went from 9 to 12 when the election was called, and is now hovering around 10.50. Might be an opportunity in the food business here because the wheat board is huge so a lot of new business might go to other grain handlers.
The down side is that the board sets prices so prices for wheat may slide.
Just a thought. I don’t have any investment in this industry but I am interested in hearing people’s opinions.

Looked over the TEAVANA web site. Not favorably impressed:
–pictures of trays of each tea mostly look like either potpourri, puke, or the contents of an ash tray
–when you look for TEAVANA store locations by clicking the target state on a US map, the list of locations that comes up is sorted by the name of the mall, not the city
–when you search for locations by entering a state/city/zip code, the map of matching locations won’t show locations out of that area when you scroll the map to a new area.

But, what the hell. If they can actually sell sugar for $8.50/lb and honey for twice that amount, they ought to be able to make money.

JTU you could be right with your prediction of where the day will end. Australian stocks jumped early but faded near the finish post. Excuse the analogy but Tuesday is Melbourne Cup race day in Australia. Europe has been up and down in the morning but one cannot help feeling that after such a strong showing yesterday they will run out of puff at the finish line tonight.

Europe gets to be saved again. Should be good for another rally.

An auction of 2.98 billion euros ($4.2 billion) of 10-year Italian government bonds on Friday produced a yield of 6.06%, up from 5.86% in an auction last month, Reuters reported. The yield was the highest since Italy joined the euro. Italy also sold 3.1 billion euros of three-year bonds, with the yield rising to 4.93%, reports said, while a sale of 2019 bonds produced a yield of 5.81%.

Athol was only about 30 miles from where I went to college. I remember there was a Zoo Mass guy we know from there with a lisp… we used to call him “The Athole from Athol.”

Completely untrue (at least that last part), but it makes for a good story doesn’t it?
