Crazy, Crazy Tape

I am checking out now, amazed by the volatility of today’s action. Just 1 hour ago we were on the verge of bleeding out. Now we are melting up into the bell.

Into further strength, I will sell TCK, some WNR and CVI. However, I will NOT add to shorts, TZA or VXX. The possibility of a run away market is still present. God forbid the Germans decide to rape their populous for the Greeks, we will move 500 points higher from here. Nevertheless, I am content with my year to date gains, especially after benefitting from a garish run– in such a short time frame.

Until proven wrong, I will remain hedged and in a heavy cash position. But, unlike previous times, I will not let any of my positions, long or short, get away from me.

Have a bad weekend.

Wow, what a close. Are there any questions as to what Monday will look like?

SPX goes up 100 points, pulls back 10, bears call for Black Monday. LOL

It’s not the number, it’s the way it happened. Far be it from me to suggest that the market is anything but efficient, but it sure looks like “somebody” doesn’t like high short interest when the market tanks.

Awesome close today. ROTFL! No matter how you try to trade this tape, it will screw you.

Still in gold, silver & cash. Nada mas. Basta!

Fly, you need a grammar checker (no homonym).

“Fly, you need a grammar checker (no homonym).”

Leaving market talk aside for a minute, that was just downright witty – made me smile. Thanks for that.

Hope that “BANNED” wasn’t aimed at me. I was merely commenting on the cleverness of the progression from the original “no homo” construction to “no homonym”. It was an appreciation of unexpected word play, not an endorsement of a comment aimed at anyone. Mea culpa and sorry.

“Anonymous plans to attack the NYSE at 3:30 EST next Monday.”

See you tuesday. I want NO part of trading through that.

Anon said they will not attack the NYSE/Wall Street/Stock Exchange.

Get your anon news from anon, not from somewhere else.

I get my “anon news” from a ouija board. Its wood was carved from the spear of destiny.

But, considering your comment, I will instead refer to bing “msn news” in the future. Thanks for the heads up.

Love the action in my John Fredericksen core companies. LNG and harsh environment deep water drilling is where this whole petroleum game is headed.

I actually penned this post on my laptop in a car. I was not really watching the market or news. So I was unable to see how fucking stupid it was.

The little rally that happened fucking melted away like a snow man in Ecuador. I didn’t miss anything.

Nevertheless, Fly, the title of your post was perfect.

This tape is so crazy that if you blink, you miss big market moves. I am still all in cash. The tape jerks around like it has that St. Vitus Dance disease.

Net short and holding.

I was so tempted to sell ALL my winners at the open at market. I had a feeling that after a few good days and heading into a weekend that the jobs numbers were not going to be enough to keep the market from selling off. Fitch downgrades didn’t help matters. Should have gone with my hunch.
Fly, I envy your successful trading!
Well done!

” I will not let any of my stocks get away from me” do you always put in a sell stop when adding a stock position. Just curious. I heard a guy say one time never underestimate how high or low can go. The down part I need to remember, and why I should always put a stop in when buying stock.

Anyone notice that you could order an iPhone 4S all day Friday and expected delivery on the release date?? It is now (finally) out 1-2 weeks.

When iPhone 4 was released the 1-2 weeks delay happen in the first few hours and they were out 2-3 weeks by the EOD, 3-4 weeks shortly after.
Shorted a little AAPL at $370
