On the skin of my cock, WNR shall report BETTER THAN EXPECTED NUMBERS tomorrow and guide the fuck up. Mind you, if they do not, the management at WNR is retarded, so don’t get mad at them. They’d have to be physically disabled to fuck up 321 cracks of $30+ and 20%+ Brent to WTI premiums. I mean, the CEO would have to roll into work in a fucking stretcher every day and gamble company profits on DNDN calls on a daily basis to miss this quarter.
I expect the shorts will catch spears through their skulls tomorrow, then tossed aside onto flaming barrels of garbage for easy disposal.
Aside from crazy anomalies, in my opinion, the only way WNR trades down tomorrow is if they announce a secondary offering, which is possible, considering their debt load. Plus, the relative share price is high. I hate to shit on your umbrellas; but that’s how the capital markets work. Don’t get mad, just deal with it and quit bitching about piker shit.
Barring an offering, “The Fly” will be fully robed and sandaled tomorrow, burning incense in his office until the fucking fire department is dispatched. wow, TSO beat by .34! What is wrong with the analysts? They haven’t noticed that crack spreads are through the roof?
WNR common did get diluted I believe when the 2014 convertible senior notes were activated from April 1 – June 30. If-converted value prior to conversion was $122M as of March 31. I suspect some of the large short float was due to convertible arb. I’d be kind of surprised if they diluted here with a secondary when fixed rates are so low.
Do you know how the 11.25% 2017 senior secured notes have been trading the past couple quarters?
Let’s hope that WNR actually operated their refineries this quarter.

6:08AM Western Refining misses by $0.17, beats on revs (WNR) 19.90 : Reports Q2 (Jun) earnings of $0.94 per share, $0.17 worse than the Capital IQ Consensus Estimate of $1.11; revenues rose 19.3% year/year to $2.56 bln vs the $2.16 bln consensus. The improved results for the quarter were due to stronger refining margins, which were primarily the result of the continued price advantage of WTI crude oil as compared to Brent and other water-borne crude oils.
They made 1.10 per basic share which is how anal(ysts) look at this stuff, not on the 94 cents diluted share.
They also took a $30 million loss on hedging again so that takes it up to 1.30 normalized. That’s not a bad deal at all.
If they can continue making say 1.10 over 4 quarters, stick an 8 multiple, it suggests 37 bucks a share.
