How enjoyable to see the market get destroyed on a joyous Friday afternoon. Aside from my TNA position, my portfolios are holding up well, almost unchanged for the day.
I think it’s clear to everyone by now, the market cannot go up without the Fed propping up the market. There is a lot of apprehension out there due to the belief that the market is built on a pile of shit. Oil is getting killed. Pretty much everything is going lower and there is nothing that can be done to remedy bad sentiment, until the sellers have exhausted themselves.
This marks the 6th straight week lower for the Dow, worst streak since the fucked up days of 2002. In my opinion, you do not sell into this sort of rout. Barring some truly reprehensible news, the blood should be bought. Nevertheless, it’s not easy and the path of least resistance is definitely lower.

This market looks absolutely fucking horrible and as expected the “the-depression-is-on-it’s-way” crowd are struggling out of the swamp and they seem to be getting a hearing from the punters.
There is a problem and it can’t be avoided though. With the pressure they are placing on the banks it’s going to be hard. However I think, like Cain said the Fed my do something to force the banks out of those reserves and start lending again, but that will take time. The market my preempt that if something is announced.
they really cant,benjamin made sure that they are well stocked with greenbacks just in case boner and reid cant get the budget done, then the banks will have enough to cash so sec checks just in case the ceiling doesnt get raised. besides, who the hell wants to borrow in this enviroment . corporations are flush with money, how come they are not spending it. so it goes both ways. bernanke knows the politicians are insane. you will surely see civil unrest come about once people cant get access to their money, these people are mostly on fixed income, and thats not gonna happen whether the ceiling gets raised or not. life goes on, but not without money
