Every once in awhile, I like to lie down during the afternoon, in order to clear my mind and focus on ideas. I concoct strategies and run numbers, calculating potential profit and losses and stress scenarios, whereby I might wipe myself the fuck out. Well, as I was lying there (on the couch) just 10 minutes ago, enduring the never-ending spate of heart palpitations that plague me, it dawned on me that the line of work I am in is killing me, literally.
I mean, some of you have day jobs as waitresses or sanitation workers. My job is this, every single day, for the rest of my fucking life, until I move to the mountainous regions of Puma Punku of course. Nothing about managing money is easy, even during the easy times. There is always mystery, like “what the fuck will happen next” type of shit. It’s a never-ending battle between idiots and morons, trying to hit one another with gravity hammers to take all of the money.
While this is happening, Mrs. Fly is gingerly buying shit online, planning out our next vacation, where I will endure pain and suffering due to information withdrawal. Because of these facts, there is NO WAY any of my children will enter the field of finance. Don’t get me wrong. There are perks, all to do with lots of money and whores, if you so choose that lifestyle. However, at the end of the day, life shouldn’t be lived in front of a fucking computer screen, rooting for nerds to manipulate the market, while making fun of other nerds in bow ties. None of these people are cool. They’re fucking misfits, obsessed with their own reflection, who’d sell short their mothers life expectancy for a quick buck.
I am 100% certain my sour attitude has something to do with the fact that my stocks are getting smashed into small pieces and tossed into flaming barrels of garbage. Nevertheless, in true dork fashion, I am eagerly awaiting the “reflex rally” so that I can make more money, enhancing my AI personality traits, enabling me to superficially suck the blood out of my enemies heads, like a vampire on speed.

Meanwhile, i am down nearly 2% on the day and the carnage doesn’t even really seem to have started yet. If this market really goes belly up, i could lose 5%. And i mean today, not eventually.
I am starting to seriously fear that scenario. But my die is cast and whatever will happen will happen.

Stock trading is like gambling; emotionally abusive and addictive. At the end of the day (your life) you can look back and say you were a great dad and husband and you supported your family and your lifestyle, but many of us will regret that we didn’t accomplish more. Trading fractures my thoughts and my time so much that I get little else done. Then I make a big wad on some stock and think I’m getting ahead. At present I’m contemplating ignoring my stock portfolio for 6 months, checking on it at most at end of day and see where that gets me.

Next Pomo schedule will be released Friday at 2:00 PM. Most of the big players know that much of the market juice is based on POMO activity so this influences buying and selling. As the POMO is supposed to be coming to a close, a number of the big hedge funds are using this opportunity for rebalancing asset allocation to account for when the juice is no longer loose. My feeling is we will chop a little until there is some large news story or a healthy POMO schedule comes out on Friday. Have noticed this in the past, that the market is waiting for the next POMO schedule just before its release to ensure the B.B. put will still be on and avoiding the more tentative risk off stance. A number of countries are also meeting to discuss their rates shortly (more liquid or less liquid as liquidity floats all boats or lack of it smashes them into the rocks)
Bilderberg meets June 9-12th, and they may set direction for the markets after their get together. Last year SPY dropped 50 points leading up to their meeting and rallied 75 after. It then dropped 100 sharply to close out June and then we rallied into the July 4th three day weekend. This is what I am planning on positioning for because John Boener said they will have the debt ceiling situation sorted out by the end of the month. Last year July was great, August was horrible, and then we rallied September to March of this year on almost a straight line until the Fukushima event.
Also watching GS criminal probe, anytime the big money center banks are threatened they tend to throw their weight around in a shock and awe impersonation of bankers turning into the incredible hulk and smashing financial assets to smitherines (ala May flash crash last year while first shorting it all of course and then blaming it on the politicians for not voting correctly – because the “MARKET” didn’t like it – he, he, he) until they get their way (settlements / fake financial regulation / raise the debt ceiling). In such low volume markets, it would not take much to move the markets with round tripping and dark pools / unlit exchanges.
I’ll feel better after I see the new POMO schedule, country rates stay flat, the debt limit is raised, and lastly if there is clarity on the bank situation. This is assuming status quo kick the can pretend and extend. Structurally we all know there are much bigger issues like lack of jobs, but the market appears to be the only thing B.B. and B.O. are able to point to for positive statements about the economy through money printing.
