Really? I’ve done a few recently and banked a bit Jake. Never heard you this adamant.
Most folks lose money– often a lot of it– getting into IPOs. Good for you that you made money– Even if it was only a little, it was tons more than most make. Those things are volatile, and they have no charts to analyze for their history. It’s just a throw of the dice.
If you CAN get stock in an IPO you don’t want it. If it is going to go up quickly,
the insiders and Friends of Brokers get ALL of the offering.
If it is going to tank, the public gets all they want.
hmmm, my most recent purchase is UAN, up 11.75% from iPO price. GM picked up about 5% and 1.5%
on KMI, I guess I’ve been lucky at sell time.
GM came out at 33 and is now 31. Kinder Morgan came out at 30
and is now under 29.
Didn’t say I sold below IPO prices.
