Crisis On, Winship Near

Some of you are familiar with my handiness around the House of Fly. When it comes to fixing things around the house, I am a destroyer. There is nothing that can stop me from fucking shit up. A few weeks back, I had my bathroom tiles steamed, which in turn caused the grout to travel yonder down the pipe until it cemented it shut. Being the handy man that I am, I took it upon myself to “correct” such egregious circumstances.

Mission accomplished.

Fast forward several weeks to today and there is water seeping through the downstairs bathroom tiles, into the foundation of the fucking garage. Fully cognizant of creating a masterpiece of household destruction, I opted to call my general contractor, so that he could laugh at me and my plights. However, at the moment, he is not interested in calling me back. So here I am contemplating fixing this shit myself, knowing full well if I do, the entire house will be flushed away in some sort of plumbing catastrophe.

When the shower is operating upstairs, it sounds like a pleasant waterfall downstairs, almost as if there were no pipes at all!

All of this, AND MORE, usually precedes EXTREME personal winship in the stock market. There is a certain order to things, a give and take if you will. The universe is now taking from me, in a most unusual fashion, setting up for a large monetary gain.

Crack spreads are up 3.5% this morning and the spread between Brent and WTI crude is now over $15. It’s only a matter of time now. The question is, will “The Fly” have a house left by the time his positions reach full potential?

Developing…

It’s called the “Even Steven” rule. You win the trifecta at the Kentucky Derby, and on the way home your brand new Porsche hits a pothole, rupturing the oil pan and blows the engine. costing you most if not all your winnings.

Of course, I’m almost 100% Irish, so it may be the that 50% Italian in you that is pushing these “handyman” attempts like the Ghosts of Grandpas Past.

i’m weary of the temptation for WNR to hedge out quarters. They have said their #1 goal is to reduce debt. If their compensation is tied to bonuses to reduce debt, then the temptation will be huge to do it. I am glad they own 41% which will mitigate this temptation somewhat. But it is also possible to believe they believe they could get paid both ways. I also do not understand why the hedge would not be public information if it is a done deal contract. Why wasn’t it discussed yesterday? All in all, I still believe the refiner trade is back on like a small ant climbing Everest.

I have a theory that the good traders make terrible tradesmen. My wife shudders when i get the tool box living in fear of what catastrophe will fall on us. So the more you destroy your house the money you make on the stock market. It’s based on the scientific method.

I read that post from a few years ago and was ROFL.

How did steamed grout cement pipes? What pipes are you talking about? What did you do to correct it? The water sound could be an open pipe or vent pipe or something. When a trap isn’t filling air can flow back up from the sewer, with shit air that kills you.

Wall grout. Yeah, you probably punctured/cracked the drain pipe or opened up a glued seal while you were trying to unclog it. If they can access the floor from underneath, it should be too hard to fix. Otherwise, they’re going to have to open up the floor of the shower to expose the pipes below.

I understood it was the wall tiles in the shower. You need grout there, or the water runs between them and down behind the tub along the wall on down to the floor below.

You need grout between the wall tile, and where the wall tiles meet the tub. Otherwise, water runs down between there. If you steamed it out, you gotta replace it.

And then seal it. Grout on its own isn’t waterproof.

The grout on its own will stop the water running thru there. the sealer will protect the grout from getting discolored and scubbed away over time.

No, it won’t. It will prevent much of the water from getting in, but moisture will still be absorbed by the grout and eventually permeate the backer. A simple google search can confirm this. For example:

“Grout is not waterproof. Therefore, you should wait a minimum of 48 hours until the grout has fully cured and then apply a silicone grout sealer according to directions on the label. An old toothbrush works well to apply it.”

by the way, you most likely poked a hole in the very bottom of the showers water trap which most likely is straight down from the drain, this could be easily fixed with pvc epoxy from topside thru the shower drain but the job will be cleaning the water trap absolutely spotless around the crack/hole before repairing with the epoxy.
this of course is assuming the house has pvc drain pipe, not iron.

Jesse…Pros like to take things just over the level to pick up orders there, so first attempt is normally not a great indicator. Not sure if resistance will be taken out.? We have the 21MA on the daily at 17.30 and the 89MA at 17.47.. so that is the nearterm support level/16.78 is a heavy strong support it has to hold. IMHO always easier to sell at resistance levels vs buying at them…but I am overall bearish.

Razor, For SLV, looking at the 2008 highs and lows, we have the 261.80% level at 39.94ish…nearterm support is at 37.63ish at the moment. But this is one type of chart that Soros would say is pure reflexology and looks to collapse on itself soon imho. So, bottomline 40 is support at this second, but sure looks like traders wiping out buy orders imho.

Still not a mania. Ask 50 people on the street or in a mall if they know what the price of silver is.
Once you start seeing commercials about cash4silver, and TV exposé shows on it, or a guy who comes to buy a used fridge off you offers to pay with 1 or 2 ounces of silver instead of cash, then you might be in mania territory. The amount of silver the average person has as a percentage of their investments is teensie tiny compared to basically all history. Same with gold.
