Thank-you!
hahahahahaha!
I was long BZ as a major position from January 2009, added to in Feb and late june/early july 2009 until late last year. One of my 8 10 baggers (someday to be 10) picked up in the great plunge.
I like the CEO and his general attitude, and I loved the valuation back in the day, and I love how they snuck a truckload of profits from some environmental rebate program that didn’t involve them changing anything.
I always buy their paper for my printers, as a way of saying “thank you, BZ, for paying for my houses and cars. I appreciate it”
one of my biggest winners, I don’t think i have ever seen ANYBODY mention it before.
I feel like celebrating
It was mentioned today on the iBC Newsbot 3000 under “Top 15 Stocks Since the Crash” or some such Bidness Intelligence header.

i’m sure its been mentioned somewhere, I just haven’t seen it. man it made me happy to see it here, 20x higher htan my cheapest shares. I hold none, sold completely out last year in the 6’s and 7’s.
it was one of the 5 easiest picks. ASH, TCK, and XL were easier, MCGC was probably similarly easy, but BZ really wasn’t in much risk. They don’t publish their debt covenant criteria but I wrangled them out of IR and came ot the conclusion that they would probably not violate them. And violating them doesn’t mean BK anyway, AND there were whispers that the black liquor kickback would kick some cash out to these kind of companies, AND the CEO seemed to have a solid head and to be quite cognizant that action had to be taken AND they announced what seemed like a competent cost savings plan… while the shares were 50 cents (or lower).
early 2009: your choice of 100’s of stocks that could literally go up 5-10 times, just sift through them to find survivors.
early 2011: your choice of 1000’s of stocks taht are priced for kissing their cousins but have good momo
I don’t consider the broad market expensive here, but overall I just don’t like this as much as early 2009. That was fun, really fun. I spent 15 hours a day reading 10Qs and listening to conference calls and surfing yahoo message boards… these days, this is lame. lame lame lame lame.
so I take naps and run stairs and wish I still smoked
that is all
ahem, GE and DOW were also probably easier. as was HUN
are you Krazy !? by cousin D Kass is out with a note! ROTFLMAOIAPOMWJOWMLH 😀 😛

My Gnome is hearing that Bob Prechter’s monthly piece is out today, and his technicals point to a major top … again.
and again…and again…and again…and again…and again…and again…
prechter is completely certain we’ll see dow 1000
and he knows it for a fact because, after getting beaten brutally by the urinal shadows, he discovered an even higher power, and thats the talking towel from the bathroom attendants closet. The towel is angry, very angry

I like BZ because they have blue grass out front.
Fly, love your blog and love BZ as I’m actually from Boise, ID. Care to share what you like about BZ? Impressed that it made your list!
I bought 1000 BZ!
Fly, you holding VCLK into earnings?
yes
Good call fly!
I am talking to a friend of my mine who is in printing industry, she says worse then last year so far, fwiw. She likes BZ over IP cuz so many companies want that paper, but not giddy at all. BTW, that reminds me I have to check lumber numbers…has anyone looked at them recently?
No. We are too busy obsessing about how old we are and what that means.
lol…thanks.
Can you explain why you bought this? Seems like a value pick only. Do you typically explain this? Thx
It’s either because he owns a time machine (obviously), that he’s a SAM (Space-Alien Magician), or because he’s increasing his reserves of “fuck you, you’re dead” linerboard, and such.
In English?
