I am not complacent about this issue, or many others concerning the security of our society. This whole issue is an example of how the priorities of our country continue to be instantaneous and quick shifting. An issue like this requires deliberate action with a purposeful result, in this case safety. What I do know is this is what has been directed, and it will be applied for the time being. Even contract airport security agencies must comply. Agreement or disagreement will not change this edict immediately. A vocal outcry is understandable, and will hopefully give those that be a puse t consider other avenues or technology, but the results will not change the edict for the next immediate period of time.
Another way to say this is anyone in a postion of authority for the past almost 10 years, has only talked big, and generated these reactive policies. Nobody has thought or acted big.
