UPDATE: In light of the HORRIFIC pinless hand grenade action in VXX, over the past two months, I thought it made sense to make a “VXX HALLOWEEN COSTUME.” Basically, I’ll be giving them away, once RC comes up with a contest idea. If you have any contest ideas, drop a note on his blog. Once you take delivery of said costume, be sure to scare the kids in the neighborhood with it. However, something tells me the adults will be more frightened by it than the little ones.

here ya go. so i’ve been at the doctors office as of late.so he has been buggin me,why dont i have insurance.naturally i told the guy,i’m self employed,and i pay cash,right there. so it cost me 60 dollars for a blood test.had i any insurance,the same test would cost an insurance company over 140 dollars.
saturday, i blew a disc in my lower back.called my chiro,he sold his business to another chiro,and this guy supposed to have taken the other one’s clients,so i told the little chica on the phone, great,so now that you have my files,and x-rays,you dont need to take x-rays then. she says oh no,the doctor always takes x-rays of new patients he see’s. she says i’ll call you back.that was monday morning,todays thursday…………… she even asked if i had insurance,told her the same thing,self employed,i pay cash.what i find distasteful about this,is that doctors today,cant figure out how much to charge for something in cash money for service rendered at the immediate time of rendering said service. because they only charge what an insurance tells them to charge for any service.it should be a doctor dictating how much he should charge for his craft,and not an outside source.

I have had a policy for over 20 years that can’t be cancelled,has no limits,and has a $10,000 deductible.
All medical services are negotiable. I have received a 40% discount on a hernia operation and 30-45% on two cataract operations. You just need to negotiate like you are buying a car. You say I can pay you 200 per month or if you discount it I will put in on my credit card.
They will take it 4 out of 5 times and will still be making more than a PPO or definitely Medicare and they know it (I used to represent over 20 hospital and physician groups).
As far as lab tests go head over to Any Lab Test Now. The costs are about 50% less, no doc script needed (they will provide you with one), usually 24 hour results, and the kicker is they go through Quest, which is where most docs go through at twice the cost.
It’s all BS.
You just need to know the strings to pull.
