Shanghai Comp is up…and yeah, the Export data that is due on Thrusday was leaked….Copper futures in Shanghai is down at this very second.
Big rally off the “leaked” data….I have to remember next month that they ALWAYS seem to do this….Fly will be happy with his rally tomorrow.

“Now we are tracking the unfolding of Intermediate wave C. This should also be a five Minor wave sequence to the downside, and we still appear to be in the first Minor wave. Upon completion of the five waves down we should complete Intermediate wave C, Major wave C, and therefore the Primary wave II correction of this bull market. The low should likely occur at one of the two ranges we posted this weekend: the OEW 1007 to 1018 pivots, or the OEW 924 to 944 pivots. This low should also coincide with the regular 4-year presidential cycle low.”

“Minor wave 1, of Intermediate wave C, may have concluded. Off that low we had a fairly good spike up to SPX 1058, then some choppy action, and then another spike higher to 1063. In the meantime, the RSI has been rising off the lows which is indicative of a countertrend rally. If Minor wave 1 has ended and Minor wave 2 is underway, we could get a rally back into the SPX 1070’s which would push the RSI to short term overbought. Then Minor wave 3, to the downside, would follow. To maintain this short term scenario the market needs to hold the OEW 1041 support pivot and clear the OEW 1058 pivot which it did today. The pattern can remain choppy since it’s likely to be corrective anyway.”
Once we conclude Minor waves 2 thru 5 (2 more minor waves down) which I think will be the 1018 area then prepare for liftoff as Primary Wave3 rockets off the 4 Year Presidential Low to new highs in the most explosive of all bull waves … don’t be caught short and have your buy list prepared as Fly says for the best rally of this bull market yet.

I think in that case it would be rather rare, since their definition is several months of slowdown across the country. I think for our purposes, “double dip” would be a lot looser. ECRI seems to be anticipating a slowdown later in the year. Seems to me that would constitute a double dip for most people if that does come to pass.
Let’s say an average full length cycle from bust to next bust is about 7 years. In 50 years we would have had 7 such cycles. 2 / 7 = 29%. Good odds it won’t happen, but far from being very rare.
