Despite the late day surge, the dollar was robusto and the long bond was solid. Coupled with the fact that many commodity names were taken out and shot, I’m guessing a stiff sell off is right around the corner. Even still, I have no interest in going short, not now—and maybe never.
Instead, I can just hide out in low beta shit and use small [[VXX]] positions for excitement.
Oh, by the way, I am very knowledgeable of the VIX and the options that rob people daily. There is a reason why I am opting to go with [[VXX]] over ordinary calls. This market feels heavier than Precious. I followed you in some VXX and will build if I like the action. Also entered a DIA Iron Condor to capitalize on sideways action that I anticipate before a dip. That said, can’t get too bearish here. Path of least resistance is still to the upside.

VIX options are European, but they’recash settled, putting them in their own little world.
But that’s not why their pricing is off. It’s because the options’ underlying is related to the futures from that month, not the spot vix.
I guess it’s back to my cave, which is actually quite spacious.

USU: I called the investor services director and he had a few interesting to say. The stock seems to me to be very dependent on the outcome of the $2 billion loan (gift) from the DoD or DoE (I can’t recall which). We can’t really rely on the what the engineers are saying about the further development in the new centrifuge technology as most of the shit is embargoed by for national security risk reasons. I am long by the way, The talk was a little sobering, as ti seems to me that this is a bet they will get the $2 billion by November which is very much dependent on the new technology they are testing.

The real question is if they get the new technology right for the centrifuge stuff. If they do this could be an 90 buck stock. Not kidding. Stick a multiple of 10 on a stock in this potentially existing area of the energy business and you end up with a market cap of $10 billion if they start to make $1 billion in profits a year which is doable in that market. Stick a realistic multiple of 20 and you’re heading the moon.
USU = USEC Inc. ? or one of the company’s variations? I still think that the minute, if not before, the world economy starts to show treu signs of life, oil and related products are going through the roof again. That would translate into higher interest in alternatives. Nuecular (sic) being the only one that is viable. Wind, solar and ethanol are a joke from a practical standpoint until the grid in the US is updated.
