BlackRock Plays It Safe: Treasurys
NEW YORK—BlackRock Inc., the world’s largest money-management firm by assets, has increased its holdings of Treasury securities in recent weeks in response to the unsteady outlook for growth, ongoing sovereign-debt woes and contained inflation risks.
Ho-Hum.

The Fly is God.

The BAC warrants really took off. The I-bank I use at times was valuing the long dated out of the money strike at $2.35 . It went off at $2.55. I bid 2 bucks and feel like a fucking moron.
Hey J, what do you think about EWA here for someone in the USA? I bought a little BAC at a 14 handle – should have bought more.
Bull:
I think you’ll see the Aussie stock market perform will this year and it will also have an appreciating currency. The Central bank is raising rates here to slow down activity.
Don’t hold beyond June though.
It’s a sign of the times; the safest asset play by one of the largest, most prominent investing groups in existence, is a security which, for all intensive purposes, we know for certain should be devalued over the short term.
BlackRock laying their cards on the table??? I don’t know, could be time to sell TLT.
It is fixed income allocation from underweight to average weight according to the article. I bought some LQD instead of TLT.
Run to the hills!
Blackrock mentioned and explained in this nice article —
IMF-STYLE AUSTERITY MEASURES COME TO AMERICA:
WHAT “FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY” MEANS TO YOU
Ellen Brown, March 1st, 2010
http://www.webofdebt.com/articles/fiscal_responsibility.php
That is indeud an interesting article. I would though, like to take exception to one of the more glaring errors mentioned there. Ellen claims that social security is pay as you go saying that the taxes paid, fund the payments to those who are drawing out of that system. That model only works when you have incoming revenue that is equal to or greater than the amount paid out. Obviously, that is not the case, or at least soon will not be the case from what am able to discern. We will soon have less people paying into the SSI system than are drawing out and that scenario goes over about as well as a fart in church.
Exactly. I didn’t bother to read the article only the SS part. The other “REAL” problem with Social Security, is that the surpluses paid into the system by the baby boomers was used to mask the true deficit. Let’s face it politicians love to spend money. People love to get stuff for free. Unless we pay as we go for most things, and borrow only for those things that we really, really need, we are screwed. Of course if the debate was about what we really really need, that would be one thing — but we are no where near that debate.
Blackrock is God?
Any reason why GS is up 3%? It was a significant breakthrough, technically speaking…Can’t find any news
You think it was the GS bots pushing through resistance?
GS always wins, even when the world appears to be on fire
Agree they always look for the riskless trade.
But one day, one day — the so called genius mathematicians will get too cocky and get it wrong. And it will all come crashing down again
The first matrix I designed was quite naturally perfect, it was a work of art, flawless, sublime. A triumph equaled only by its monumental failure. The inevitability of its doom is as apparent to me now as a consequence of the imperfection inherent in every human being, thus I redesigned it based on your history to more accurately reflect the varying grotesqueries of your nature. However, I was again frustrated by failure. I have since come to understand that the answer eluded me because it required a lesser mind, or perhaps a mind less bound by the parameters of perfection.

VHC trial starts Monday unless there is a settlement over the weekend. Why go to Vega$ when you’ve got Tyler, TX?
Fly, great call with WNR. Bought some this morning and it’s running like an escaped prisoner being chased by hounds.
All you people in Connecticut should watch the Connecticut republican primary debate. Obviously Peter Schiff is the smartest of the bunch and should be elected. He is one of the few that gets it.
It would be great for our country to have his voice in the senate. But the people that run the planet are unlikely to tolerate the election of someone who refuses to just go along. Expect character attacks and ‘did Peter have unnatural relations with a diseased yak?’ type of smears if he starts doing better in the pols.
Yep, the old crazy white haired idiots in the government protect each other. when someone outside of the club rattles the trees then the attack machines start up and their primary purpose is to create fear. Fear of change. Fear is the emotion that they know they can use to manipulate the sheeple.
The creation of fear of WMD’s in a Iraq as a precursor to invasion
The creation of fear of the financial system collapse, to bailout the billionaires

Still holding on to a nice GMCR position that I bought at 68. Looks like she wants to head back to 88 where I will unload some of the position and let some ride
