As for stocks, forget the banks. Citigroup Inc. [[C]] just reported and the numbers sucked. You know, 68% of Citi’s revenue originate from overseas? That’s an amazing figure. If I was an American, which I most certainly am, I would not trust those fucking nerds over at Citi with my dinero. Banks are simply too difficult to analyze. They all lie and are protected by world governments to successfully continue said lies. I propose, why bother with banks when there are perfectly fine technology and commodity stocks available for purchase?
Ultimately, banks will sink into oblivion, as their weighting in the S&P 500 shrinks over time. I would not be surprised to see the financial weighting in the S&P around 10%, 5 years from now. If you need financial exposure, you’re better off with insurance or asset managers in your portfolios.
Okay, time to get ready for the trading day, via eating 3 large bowls of oatmeal. I am not talking regular “hey look I’m a dumb guy eating oatmeal” large. I am talking MONSTROUSLY large bowls, on a very, very hideous scale.

That puritanical BS is overstated. I doubt even 5% of the most conservative Republicans care about a silly photo spread done 20 years ago. People confuse attitude towards certain behaviors as being puritanical when often it is just a preference that some crap not be pushed in our face.
A better example to explain this is consider potential candidates marriage history. Personally, I would prefer people only get married if they intend to make it permanent, but whether they do or not is their business and will not overly affect my voting decision. In 2008 I voted for the guy with a spotty marital record (McCain) over the guy with one wife (Obama). That issue can affect my opinion of a candidate’s trustworthiness, but by itself it isn’t enough to override policy differences.
It won’t be Brown’s nudie pics that keep him from being Prez, it will be his voting record.
Too liberal (thus far at least) to get him through the tough primaries.

Funny you mention the cocksuckers at Citi. I got to their second round of interviews for an entry-level position out of college but was denied in favor of some douchebag kid who’s daddy works for a hedge-fund.
Regardless, I couldn’t agree more that they’re merked, and I hope that they and the rest of big banks go to hell in a hand basket. I can’t tell you how many bullshit overdraft fees they’ve raped me with by reordering and retroactively applying transactions.
I’m graduating this spring and couldn’t feel more terrified about career prospects. I was thinking about law school, but it’s the same bullshit as everything else–getting in debt with no guarantee of future security.
What industry do you think I’d be least screwed in? Or, in other words, if Young Fly was entering the job market these days, where would you look to go?
some advice… Take a look at Haiti. The people banking coin in Haiti over the last week will be doing the same in the US over the next 10 years. Morticians, clergy, doctors, firemen, demolition crews. Basically, those who profit from death and destruction are the winners in the next generation in the US. You could either try and thrive as the grim reaper in the US, or get a permanent skin darkening and move to a poor country where the 50% of the population is under 20, and about to steal the wealth from the masses of idiots here in the US.
