I rarely drink heavily on work nights. I will have you know, it’s always a bad idea to get drunk, when you have work the next day. However, I don’t really “work,” now do I? I just sort of lounge around, barking orders at people, while blogging here on the internets. Others in my profession claim “mental anguish.” Well, I will have you know again, they’re just pussies. My point: I should not have had that 20th beer, for I believe it is responsible for making my head spin.
Back to the market:
Since I am impaired today, I will pass on trading and doing things that make me think. Therefore, I will talk to you, the zombified internet trader. We can discuss all sorts of fun shit, stemming from charts to the Nobel Prize and why they don’t really matter.
The market is green and I am making money again—fucking shocker. Some of my outperformers include: [[CBD]] , General Cable Corporation [[BGC]] , Guess?, Inc. [[GES]] , Aracruz Celulose SA (ADR) [[ARA]] , Homex Development Corp. (ADR) [[HXM]] and McMoRan Exploration Co. [[MMR]] . As sure as I am sitting here, that bastard of a stock, Flotek Industries, Inc. [[FTK]] , will touch $3—one day. By then, I might be 100 years old, walking around in adult diapers; but I will get my $3!!!

Fuck that. Fly spiked it. Everything goes up and down in straight lines.
Fly must be referring to “Float-tek”. Thanks Fly for this one – http://www.myspace.com/xenophobearmy
I have neither the time nor the talent, but I think it would be funny as shit if someone produced a low-budget episode of Knight Rider, where Michael goes to San Francisco to drop in on his less successful brother Tim. I’m sure David Hasselhoff would be down for enough money.
As MK rolls up to Tim’s ramshackle house, kitt says “I don’t know about this Michael, my sensors are detecting high concentrations of bearshit in the area, it might not be safe”
flash to Michael eating dinner with Tim “So Tim, what in the fuck does “With the advent of the Web, he envisioned providing the power of these expensive software packages with browser-based convenience – enabling traders to focus on their analysis, instead of worrying about software upgrades and database issues. His online technical analysis suite at Prophet.Net delivers on this vision and more. ” mean anyway?” Did you write this about yourself? How’s that going anyway?”
In the next scene, Tim feels really insecure because Michael can see right through him. So he organizes a local “slope of soap on a rope” get together. Countless bearshitters show up, and Kitt’s sensor breaks as the morons approach. As Michael and Tim eat tuna sandwiches with the crust cut off, Kitt contemplates his signature move; busting through Tim’s brick wall to rescue Michael from the clutches of retardation.
At the end of the episode, it is clear to Michael that Tim has spent all of his portion of the inheritance, and has a following of fucking morons. As Michael drives off, Kitt says something snarky.
Then, back in the 18-wheeler, Michael goes up front to check on his hair. Upon returning to Kitt’s bay, he overhears Devon, Bonnie, and Kitt laughing uncontrollably at all the stories Kitt has to tell about Michael’s loser brother Tim.
Anyone? Danny?
Go FUQI!
SYNA has been my Prodigal Son for weeks now.
After cleaning out the ocean of all its lobsters, scallops, and clams this weekend at an egregious wedding in Maine I found it completely necessary to go all Wade Boggs at the bar and put everyone to shame. Dude, I got so drunk that I almost, ALMOST, went outside during the reception to play frisbee golf (frolf?).
kinda mellow in here, may as well post some things from today…
Semiconductors positioned to outperform into and through earnings season – JMP
JMP notes that Intel (INTC) will kick things off on Oct 13, after the close, and while firm believes investors are well aware of the consistently strong PC data points throughout the qtr, firm believes enough seasonal and valuation concerns have crept into valuation considerations so as to allow a solid beat and raise by Intel to carry the stock and the group higher. Firm expects guidance for the group to reflect some caution and an expectation for normal seasonal slowing as mgmt teams, like investors, will be waiting on holiday season sales trends to ultimately prove if channel component inventory has been correctly, conservatively, or overly built up. However, firm believes the product cycles are compelling enough for year end and 2010 and earnings expectations and valuations for semis conservative enough that, on balance, the group will perform.
Intel ests raised at ThinkEquity ahead of earnings on strong notebook shipments (20.17 ) -Update
ThinkEquity’s checks indicate a very strong 3Q09 in Notebooks (NBs) in Taiwan for the ODMs. Those checked with believe NB shipments for 3Q09 are tracking up 30% Q/Q. Therefore, firm raises 3Q09E rev/EPS to $9.5 bln/$0.35 from $9 bln/$0.28 ($9.01 bln/$0.27 consensus), with the top line growing 18% Q/Q. Checks indicate Sept. monthly Notebook builds were up 30% Q/Q and have ratcheted up twice, with the prebuilds for Win7. Notebook ODMs indicate little hesitation in ordering from NB OEMs, and potential component shortages in graphics, Optical drivers, and Memory in October. A potential Server budget flush should also help INTC in 2H09. INTC reports tomorrow after the close.
Intel: FBR Capital Q3 chip preview: more “beat and raises” coming; still positive on space (20.17 )
FBR Capital saw 2Q09 chip revs rebound +13% sequentially, they expect 3Q09 revs grew +12% sequentially, and they expect 4Q09 revs will grow +5% sequentially; they note INTC reports tomorrow after the close. While near-term momentum seems to be peaking, they remain constructive on chip stocks given lean downstream inventories, many likely “beat and raise” performances coming for Q4, improving global economic indicators, and still-reasonable valuations. Their recent checks were positive; but there are increased risks that there has been a PC build-ahead and that the PC supply chain has slightly “overheated” due to the Oct 22 launch of Windows 7, and due to higher lead times and some component tightness in optical drives, hard drives, and DRAM. Preferred value stocks include FCS, MSCC, ONNN, and ATML. Preferred growth stocks include MRVL, SLAB, and BRCM.
