A Noble Opening

Congratulations to Prezident O’Bama for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize; he certainly earned it. After all, since he was elected Prezident, there have been no wars and world wide crime is down an astonishing 99%.

In other news, I just got back from an egregious blood test, where I halfway bitched out—nearly passing out from the ordeal. I don’t know why my heart rate plummets to 40, while having my fucking blood removed. But it does and I fucking hate my heart for it. If possible, I’d rip my heart out and punch it in its face, for making me look bad, in front of Doctors, nurses and other snarky people.

Back to business:

The market will close green, only because it is the path of least resistance. I will peruse my positions later on, in order to analyze risk. Now is a good time to take a little off the table, just in case the ball jugglers sell equities next week.

Right here, right now, I like Flotek Industries, Inc. [[FTK]] , TEKELEC [[TKLC]] , ADTRAN, Inc. [[ADTN]] and Aracruz Celulose SA (ADR) [[ARA]] .

    Greetings Fly,

We will be throwing a party this weekend to celebrate our win ship for the week. White gloved servants will be serving champagne and lamb burgers.

Would you have time this weekend to join us for this royal event?

I have always looked up to the Nobel prize as the highest honor of any human regardless of country.

Based on, always up till this year, a lifetime of toil in fighting for equality and peace.

Now, with Al Gore winning it based solely on “a movie production on climate theory” and now Obama winning it based on “speeches of how it could be” ( and even at that, speeches over only 10 months) with neither Al Gore or Obama actually having toiled year after year after year in the front lines and in the fox holes full of mud slugging it out with actual work that resulted in actual solid results, not to mention sometimes toiling a lifetime on helping actual people get out of the line of fire, has 100% as of today ruined my outlook of the award and I now regard this award as of today as mearly another MTV Music award….. what a fucking joke.

No worries, Le Fly, your condition is called “syncope” and it’s fairly common.

True story, my daughter has this condition, exceot that she faints when she hits her funny bone — it’s happened twice in the last three months. Scared the scheiss out of me until we did some research on it.

The blood thing is a lot more common —

Syncope [pronounced sin-co-pee]: a sudden brief loss of consciousness

In the case of fainting at the sight of blood, syncope results from non-cardiovascular causes, particularly due to problems with the autonomic nervous system, which is responsible for many of our bodily functions, including regulating blood pressure, heart rate, and our responses to anxiety, fear and emotional stress. Vasovagal syncope, typically precipitated by unpleasant physical or emotional stimuli (eg, pain, fright, sight of blood), usually occurs when a person is standing upright. The feeling of fear or anxiety at the sight of blood is the cause of the onset of fainting:

    * As the heart beats faster and stronger [a response of the autonomic nervous system to person seeing blood], it sends a wrong message that tells receptors in the heart’s chambers that the ventricle is filled with blood.
    * The receptors send a message telling the nervous system that blood pressure is too high. In fact, the ventricle is not full and the blood pressure is too low.
    * When the brain receives the faulty message, it slows the heart rate and further dilates the blood vessels.
    * The blood pressure drops even lower, less blood is pumped to the brain and the risk of fainting increases.

      Fly:

I had the same thing. Try this…. drink 2 liters of water a day if your issue is lowish blood pressure, fainting or light headedness as it is a possible sign of dehydration. I do this and feel great. Doc told me. I used to be dehydrated all the time as at times only drank a glass of water every other day.

If you’re chronically dehydrated you receptors basically close down and really stop working as they don’t want to be telling you, you’re thirsty all the time. They stop working effectively after about 1/2 an hour.

You’ll be going to the john a lot until your system gets used to it and settles down.

          na.. Artist..

I used walk around feel fucking dizzy all the time. The first fucking quack sent me to get an MRI and and scared the shit outta me implying I had a brain tumor. (Fucking areshole quack. He frightened the living daylights out of me until I got the result from that machine).

I gave him the flick after I got the all clear and then went to another quack. He asked me how much i drank.. water ….and was aghast that it was about a glass ever couple of days.

now with 2 litres a day i feel like a top dog again, no dizziness or low blood pressure. I’m the perfect human specimen in terms of health.

Has happened to me once while giving a blood sample. Has happened a few other times while experiencing pain. I injured my ankle one night while drinking and didn’t realize it until I woke up the next morning and stood up! Sounds seem to go first and then vision is reduced to black and white fading to black. If caught in time, laying flat with feet and knees elevated seems to prevent the full blackout from occurring.

My stepdad has a similar condition, except it’s tied to his pinky.
No joke – if he hits his pinky just right (like right on the end, say, with a basketball), he will faint within the next 2 minutes.

As “undeserved”/”premature”/”Nobel Committee trying to influence world politics”/”Nobel Committee trying to stir up some news about itself” this whole thing may be…we must also consider Obama’s competition for the prize…the other “favorites” were:

A senator from Columbia, some dissident from China, a human rights activist from Afghanistan, and the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe. In terms of worldly impact, they can’t even hold a candle to Obama.

Re: Afghanistan, the Nobel Committee had this to say:
“The decision to go into Afghanistan had a unanimous UN mandate. The conflict concerns us all – this is not only the responsibility of Barack Obama,” he told the Guardian. “Hopefully the improved international climate [Obama has fostered] could help resolve the conflict in Afghanistan.”

But perhaps the biggest reason he got it just the fact that the committee “likes” him:
“For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world’s leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama’s appeal that “Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.”

If the gloom and doomers (slope for dopes and their ilk) were agitating for financial armageddon ’cause they want to see Obama bin Laden thrown out of the WH then I’d cut them some slack. But they do it ’cause they’re a bunch of nihilistic phucks who hate the very system that allows them the freedom to participate in the markets and that is why I enjoy witnessing the meltdown in their capital as the markets melt up. As for myself, I’d be in favor of the second half of the great recession’s double dip right about 2011 if it means the end of this sorry chapter in POTUS history.

We did nominate Eddie Haskell for the Nobel Peace prize once but the competition that year was tough with Ed Sullivan, Buffalo Bob, and Nikita Kruschev having been nominated.
