BR is not basic resources, but financials. It was mistakenly tossed in. An interesting name, nonetheless,
love SGY, but you already know that.
Great minds Fly. On today’s Stocktwits Brunch with Steve Place he spoke at length about the perfect storm brewing for a large commodity pop.
I was fortunate to get him to review my own pick of POL, #7 on your PPT list, which he thought looked perfect.
Zen: Thanks for the feedback, I do think that the macro conveyor belt trading ought to lead to some relation themes coming back into play.
Fly, thanks for the list, I will look to see if any of them will fit into my style.

There have been some excellent opportunities in materials for the smart investor. FCX collapsed from 120 to 17 and change. Very high chance of it hitting 100 within 6 months or so I reckon.
the only thing holding basic materials back, imo, is the weakness in chinese stocks, if those rally or break the downtrend line, then basic materials are coiled to shoot to the moon. personally, i’m waiting for china before making any moves
i do think everything will rally the beginning of next week, though. friday felt like someone was loading up hard.
lol @ “so i herd you liek mudkips” username. I had a call in CENX and sold too early. Time to get back in.
Don’t you think oils going to need to run to make this happen – every week our inventories increase by the millions. Just something I’m seeing.
Granted, if oil gets running (breakout above ~72.5ish) I’m all about it!
Jacksons (even kicked out ones) abound on that list.
It is almost as sweet as the Branzino at Pellegrino’s.

It’s amusing also that I do not add Canuckistanian royalty plays to the Jacksonian fold, but that is the fault of the eminently stupid Canuckistanian gummint and their rapacious tax whoremongering.
If not for that, there’d be at least five on the list (Pre-tax change) and #1 would have been PGH, which I’ve owned for about eight years now.
__
___
You laugh but you also will very soon feel the full pain of the egregious tax curse.
jake. all canuckistanians pray for your continued good health.
Would that I only got the prayers of the “theist” Canuckistanians, I would feel very blessed.

Interesting list. I ran the names through our Sabrient Ratings Algorithm, and found that the top ranked stocks in our system (which can be based on value, growth, or momentum) include TRA, RRC, BZ, PGH, TSO, and YZC. However, none are ranked particularly high on our GARP-oriented Company Outlook Rank, which we use for long/short absolute return strategies (although many Energy stocks do rank near the top).
Just stop it Karl!

I’ve been watching ROC for a while. Great buy after a pull back. Should also be considered as a 4g/smartphone play due to it’s lithium division.
Tough to penetrate spam guard. It appears to be a dip coming – are ya gonna buy it? I can save money for you on car insurance.
