One Last Thing About Anonymity

I don’t want to pound this issue into the ground, since Denni Kneel [sic] is just whoring for eyeballs (note: despite Kneel [sic] mentioning iBC on his show, the site did not get a traffic bump. In other words, more people read iBankCoin than watch his experiment in live idiocy).

I am going to put the matter of anonymity to bed, right now.

If CNBC, specifically Charlie Gasparino and David Faber, fesses up and discloses the identities of all of their egregious sources (you know, the ones who give them all of their market moving hot tips), I will reveal my identity, alongside everyone on this site (providing they agree). Additionally, I am sure many anonymous bloggers will do the same.

Furthermore, since transparency is so important to the pig-masters on the teevee, I propose they (CNBC) cease using sources that wish to remain anonymous. You know, let it all hang out—fuck it. Lead by example, great make-up God’s from the teevee, and we (simple bloggers) will follow you into an era of unbridled transparency.

I concur. And in the interest of solidarity, let me say I’m me.

  2. j says:

    Great idea, Fly.

Yep, I’m in. You can reveal my identity if those CNBC meatball’s reveal their anon sources.

I bet Denni won’t got go for that though.

  3. popper says:

Yes, let’s all be transparent. Everybody take off their pants… we want to measure everybody’s penis sizes too. Small ones need not apply…keep the pants on, we know.

      • Braveflaps says:

My face ain’t the only thing painted blue tonight.

Go ahead, Sir Denni McKneel (sic) – check under mah kilt, you great bloody git.

Come clean and I’ll eat mine own haggis!

      • mrsbuttons says:

journalists go to jail rather than reveal their sources – don’t hold your breath..gasparino has NO JOB if he gives it away- ie his sources…he won’t and neither would you if you were him.

        Time to move on….methinks

  4. Hammy says:

you mean the whole “George Hamilton” thing on the iBC axiom ownership info was fake?

  5. DEVILDOG says:

    Count me in.

    • j says:

Yea right. Dog it’s better you stay under that moniker as we’ll end up disappointed. “Leroy” isn’t a good look for someone hoping for disaster.

  6. trustnone says:

    Ha! Never gonna happen!

  7. DEVILDOG says:

I guess dennis will be keeping his pants on.

  8. Brilliant point Fly.

  10. No One says:

    “Reveal your identity”?
    Haven’t you said that before?

  11. MOOBER says:

Interesting there was no spike in traffic. CNBC is fail.

  12. Juiceyfruit says:

Dennis deserves some sort of permanent asshat lifetime achievement award.

  13. idontmatter says:

your reegular bloggers need to keep their end up though! Lots of good guys and the Rajun Cajun is a truly great trader but really what is the point of checking his blog 1once every two days and this site should really have a notable calls type daily post of its own, not a bloody link to notable calls.

  14. The Fly says:

There is plenty of research posted in ppt

  15. dtrader says:

    Fly -

This is not worth your concern. He wants to mention us – great. I guarantee you, no one is taking investment advice from Dennis Kneale. This site makes people money. CNBC reports coked-out rumours [sic] and manipulates markets. They are playing it up – Dennis vs. Blogo-Goliath. We all get it, a pretty little fool can come out on TV and defend his cred. It’s all part of the game.

Utterly insane. He actually asked Denninger if bloggers “manipulate the markets”. Hypocrisy at its finest. Yeah, we manipulate whatever you CNBC shits don’t, you’re spot on, Dennis.

Once again, this site actually contains measures of reality and investment advice. Yo,u Fly, are a God, and these made-up clowns are the true evildoers.

  16. ZMoose12 says:

Most of you should know my identity, but hell, I’ll put it out to the world if Faber sticks his stuff out.

  17. Everyone knows who I am, at least on the my trading background. I don’t need some bullshit veil of anonymity.

I still want to know where these ppl get their info.

  18. Anton Cigur says:

Great point. Where else would cnbs get what little actual news they broadcast? Jack Welch’s current wife? Maria’s father-in-law? The parents with whom Kneel still lives?

I’m with j. If cnbs reveals their anonymous sources, you can reveal j’s identity.

    It’s only fair.

    • j says:

      lol
      ———

The parents with whom Kneel still lives

Is that true? The little bitch still lives with mommy and daddy.

I can’t. It’s the Peanut gallery for lord’s sake. It’s goes against the grain to post a comment in a spot that’s called the Peanut gallery.

          • Anton Cigur says:

Well, this entire enterprise sails under the banner of “iBankCoin,” j,
with the PG being just another self-mocking hipster sub-group.

But I’m sure Fly would give you your own tab if you blogged often enough
on the subject to warrant it. Nobody else is talking about currency trading
or its correlation the equity and bond markets.

“Chunder from Down Under with j”
There’s your header. Now all you have to do is fill in the stuff underneath it.

    • Teahouse On The Tracks says:

j already revealed his identity on some video when he was working in the states for some i-bank (Solly?).

The big banks report next week. LET THE LYING CONTINUE!!!

  23. whpaw says:

i confess I AM THE WALRUS

  24. j says:

    Scum

Why would they be lying? How do you know?

Unless you can back that up with some solid evidence they are lying then it’s frankly a very stupid unhelpful comment that goes in the “GS is robbing me, because they’re manipulating the the markets and I lost money” type of comment. In other words, stupid, unsophisticated and sorta bigoted.

The large banks with good investment banking operations possibly had a top quarter. in fact because of the red hot markets it could be the best quarter in ages in that sector. Writeoffs? Of course there will be write-offs, Dumphy. In fact they will be horrible with BofA writing off around 7 billion alone in one part of the book. meanwhile margin income will be large because of of the borrowing/lending spread.

So please explain in detail where there will be lying. They could be lying however you need to prove they are.

    Go!

    ——–

Fuck it from now on I’ll be questioning all these truther like comments we see here to ram out all this conspiracy theory shitola we keep getting now.

  25. Enrico says:

Don’t do it!! I am new to your site/blog and enjoy the accuracy and attention to detail and the vast vocabulary. Not knowing who you are makes no difference to me as long as your work is informative. However, do what YOU feel is best but don’t give in to loosers who are simply envious of your abilities. It takes a lot of effort to keep a site of this calibre going, and the loosers know deep inside of them that they are incapable of such effort. Hence their being envious. Anyhow, keep up the good work and don’t even give them any attention, and even like a nasty stench of shit, eventually, they too will go away.

    • Teahouse On The Tracks says:

Write “looser” one more time and you’re gunna look like a LOSER!

      • Enrico says:

Is that the stench of shit I smell? How many times do we winners have to flush before you loosers go away? Does writing a word twice confuse you shithead? Who allows loosers like you to interact with society? Is this too many difficult questions for you shithead looser? How the fuck are you even capable of calculating the spam protection sum question above? Is you mommy helping you? Fuck off and go back to surfing your gay porn shithead looser.

    Awesome post Fly.

    Fly,

Speaking of anonymity: You may have missed it in an earlier post. I live about 5 miles from Lenny and his Office is at a local small plane airport. I found his house (the one in the video) on Google satellite. Would you like me to post it or just email it to you?

water is pouring in. the levee will not hold forever.

while they watch the newspapers media empires crumble, tv networks have one choice; either work out a way to put guys like the fly and tyler durden on air anonymously or be defeated.

i am serious, this is a test AND a rehearsal. because eventually, tv producers being resourceful as they are they will work it out. and they understand that the one way dialogue of tv with its audience is going the way of the newspapers and the dodo.

see… newspapers are going BK not just because they are made of paper. they are going BK because the news onlineis available almost instantly (newspapers are printed a day late) AND they allow the readers to have a conversation immediately about it. not to some asshat jorno coming with a mic and a producer choosing the best/worst parts of the pundits comments: an unfiltered, anonymous comment section. THAT is what is killing the newspapers and soon will destroy the TV networks if they don’t get with the program.

Online anonymity allows everybody in. something tv personality circus CANNOT.

you have no teleprompter feeding you. you don’t have to wear a tan to fit the tv standards. you don’t have to have a pile of degrees. you don’t have to have worked at GS or JPM or with Soros or UBS or who gives a shit. no one knows if you are a woman or a man. pretty or ugly. your nationality. or what skin colour or if you have an accent.

all you have to be able to do is type.

your credibility is build upon the meat, the core: your comments.

and that’s the anonymity paradox: you can’t hide – stand behind anything else but your comments.

  38. so i herd you liek mudkips says:

Fly: just wondering, did they try to get you on CNBC and you refused because you wanted to remain anonymous?

  45. D.K. is a dunce. plain and simple as that. The man has no expertise in anything and has no business being on camera where his ignorance can and has caused harm to viewers who do not know any better. I suspect D.K is a fan of Jerry Springer and likely was sitting in his underwear, beer in one hand and chicken leg in the other, laughing his ass off when a brain fart finally popped into his head. It was at that point he realized how he could emerge from the shadow of obscurity. I believe D.K. and CNBC are fully aware that this lil tirade of theirs is not making D.K any more popular; in fact, i suspect they know and are willing to accept that it makes them look like desparate crack whores willing to trick themselves out for quick fixes – cause at the end of the day, those fixes keep them going.
