I know the truth hurts. It’s okay.

    • The Fly says:

If by the next Dykstra, you mean, become a great baseball player and win the World Series, I say great. If you mean, file bankruptcy, borrow 30k from Mom for jet fuel, I say fuck off coffin stuffer.

      • Anon says:

LOL. I was more along the lines of borrowing money from your mom for gas in your busted ‘86 Hyundai Elantra but maybe you don’t throw like a girl.

  3. dirtydawg says:

Nice. In case of financial Armageddon we’ll only be able to afford Corn.
    I like it

    • dirtydawg says:

I don’t know if TVs are that hot anymore, maybe for all those N.Korean hackers the demand is high

  4. mark says:

When do you expect GLW to go up again? Hopefully a blow out earning/guidance will bring GLW back to $16 range.

  5. More GLW? Fly, control yourself!

  6. Roark says:

    Quote of the day:

“It’s not that we’ve run out of cash,” says Carol Knowles, spokeswoman for the Illinois comptroller. “We’re always out of cash.”

Illinois is over 3 months late late on $2.4 billion in bills but hasn’t considered IOUs…yet.

  7. ToddinFL says:

This may work short term for GLW on a bounce from extreme oversold conditions, but that doesn’t mean (nor am I implying that The Fly is suggesting) that this is a good practice in the course of trading.

Averaging down is the death knell of many traders.

    Carry on …

    • Generational BOTTOM Picker says:

The majority of big money I have made in the market has come as a result of averaging down.

A few years ago I paid 30 for 200 shares of a stock. (HAL) At 20 I bought 400 more.
      At 15 400 more. At 12 1000 more. At 10 4000 more and at 9 5000 more. (Those last
four trades happened over 3 days). I sold half my position at 15, and the rest at 25.

      Figure out THAT percentage return.

      • ToddinFL says:

Just because it worked for you doesn’t make it a sound trading strategy for the masses.

The majority of traders/investors who average down lose money doing so.

  8. Cash-N-Guns says:

trading this mkt lately is like flipping burgers on the grill in florida with your bare hands..it looks so good you have to touch it,,,then your fucking burned…..please implode or explode…this is too boring…

  9. gappingandyapping says:

Dude bro spot me a 10, I owe like 50 million on this tie. I am money.

  10. Eff Ewe All says:

Ok, short GLW. Got it. Thanks FLY!

  11. SteveTheNeighbor says:

Thought I would let you know but the Sheriff came by looking to serve you with a witness subpoena.
Something about you testifying as a character witness for a Lenny Dykstra.
I hope it’s okay but I told him you just moved to Honduras to run a banana plantation.

    Top 10 Obama Apologies

    1. Apology to Europe: Speech in Strasbourg, France, April 3. “In America, there’s a failure to appreciate Europe‘s leading role in the world. Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.”

    2. Apology to the Muslim world: Interview with Al Arabiya, January 27. “My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy. We sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect.”

    3. Apology to the Summit of the Americas: Address to the Summit of the Americas, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, April 17. “While the United States has done much to promote peace and prosperity in the hemisphere, we have at times been disengaged, and at times we sought to dictate our terms.”

    4. Apology at the G-20 Summit of World Leaders: News conference in London, April 2. “I just think in a world that is as complex as it is, that it is very important for us to be able to forge partnerships as opposed to simply dictating solutions.”

    5. Apology for the War on Terror: Speech in Washington, D.C., May 21. “Unfortunately, faced with an uncertain threat, our government made a series of hasty decisions. I believe that many of these decisions were motivated by a sincere desire to protect the American people. But I also believe that all too often our government made decisions based on fear rather than foresight, that all too often our government trimmed facts and evidence to fit ideological predispositions.”

    6. Apology for Guantanamo in France: Speech in Strasbourg, France, April 3. “In dealing with terrorism, we can’t lose sight of our values and who we are. That’s why I closed Guantanamo. That’s why I made very clear that we will not engage in certain interrogation practices. I don’t believe that there is a contradiction between our security and our values. And when you start sacrificing your values, when you lose yourself, then over the long term that will make you less secure.”

    7. Apology for America before the Turkish Parliament: Speech to the Turkish Parliament, Ankara, Turkey, April 6. “The United States is still working through some of our own darker periods in our history. Facing the Washington Monument that I spoke of is a memorial of Abraham Lincoln, the man who freed those who were enslaved even after Washington led our Revolution. Our country still struggles with the legacies of slavery and segregation, the past treatment of Native Americans.”

    8. Apology for U.S. Policy toward the Americas: Editorial “Choosing a Better Future in the Americas,” April 16. “Too often, the United States has not pursued and sustained engagement with our neighbors. We have been too easily distracted by other priorities, and have failed to see that our own progress is tied directly to progress throughout the Americas.”

    9. Apology for the Mistakes of the CIA: Remarks to CIA employees at Langley, Va., April 29. “Don’t be discouraged that we have to acknowledge potentially we’ve made some mistakes.”

    10. Apology for Guantanamo: Speech in Washington, D.C., May 21. “There is also no question that Guantanamo set back the moral authority that is America’s strongest currency in the world.”

I will waterboard our gay fuck muslim little cunt president….he is goatshit….

    • DSB says:

What the fuck is wrong with apologies? We’ve been acting like assholes for a long time, and most of the world hates us. We buy our friends and slaughter our enemies, and our currency is about to get kicked to the curb in terms of reserve status. Do you interpret apologizing as weakness?

      • Cash-N-Guns says:

DSB…your a gay faggot who obviously has never served in harms way, nor do understand anything other than ordering a latte, and carrying your chubby girls purse while she shops..your a pussy.

I guess 4200 American deaths is justified. You’re right.

Why do 18 Iraq veterans commit suicide every day? Maybe they realize that they put their lives on the line and killed a lot of people for a bullshit reason.

              http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/suicide-rate-in-us-army-at-highest-in-26-years-461933.html

Can you accept that Iraq was bullshit and that we shouldn’t have gone in, and that congress was too fucking stupid to do anything about it? This is not a hindsight 20/20 issue, we shouldn’t have gone in period - and GWB/Cheney played us like fucking idiots because America wanted revenge for 9/11.

Our war on terrorism should have focused on Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan. NOT IRAQ MOTHERFUCKER

“Nearly 4,000 U.S. troops have been medically evacuated from Operation Iraqi Freedom for non-combat reasons — with more than one in five of those for psychiatric or neurological problems, according to Pentagon data.”

              • Fly Leech says:

You are one BIG Fucking LIAR!! 18 VETS, not 18 IRAQ Vets. Iraq Vets are at 4/day. The 18 includes all wars back to the WW’s. Do you even know if those figures for the Iraq vets are a higher or lower percentage than the population as a whole for their age group? NO!

                • DSB says:

You’re right, google fucked me on that one. But that wasn’t my point. We are fucking our soldiers up in a war we shouldn’t be in.

“Our war on terrorism should have focused on Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan.”

          • JakeGint says:

          • JakeGint says:

Yeah, we do a lot of raping and pillaging while keeping the Western world safe.’

Another fucking asshole. GTFO, you’re not fit to shine the lowest service members brogans.

      • Fly Leech says:

        DSB,

Fuck you. We are the nicest country in the world. There’s just too many fucking stupid ones acting like rabid dogs that bite the hands of those trying to help them. Fuck you on that white power crap too, no one here but you comes close to that.

  18. Bman says:

Technical analysis (TA) on GLW says wait to buy until it at least touches 13.84 (100-day MA). The weekly chart looks more predictive, though, and says to wait until it touches 13.30 (50-day MA on weekly). Somewhere between those price points is likely a good buy zone.

  20. chivasontherocks says:

    Jake,

although i respect fibs a great deal, the other stuff that i look at has me even more bearish than i was a month ago. even though we can get an oversold bounce here, imo it will be only a bounce. also remember that most of the dramatic declines in history have come from oversold conditions.

  31. 308 says:

    hmmm…

ETF Volume skews push tape higher
The come back in the last 20 minutes or so is the result of a volume skew in the ETFs for the Nasdaq 100 (QQQQ) and the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DIA) which are running more than 24% ahead of average daily volume. These can be short-term effective, but generally do not produce runs, in either direction, that last. The S&P 500 (SPY) and Russell 2000 (IWM) ETFs do not have this skew.

  32. j says:

if the market closes positive today and say the AA result comes out ok this will put a bid into the far east market that could propel things higher tomorrow.
