I am in the camp that says the golden cross ain’t nearly as golden without MA’s moving in same direction. So far, the point of that golden cross has cost any bulls who initiated trades on it. Probably the thing to do is wait till first intermediate term oversold reading after signal, before getting long.
I like Karl & think he is incredibly knowledgeable/intelligent .. but often he is too shrill & carries the negative too far, for his or anyone’s good.

Golden cross is just one signal. Don’t read into it too much in this case since there are many other conflicting messages. You also don’t have enough data to support. 30 trades isn’t much.
Statistically, pre-4th of july should have been an up day with a “100%” probablity or so…… I’d be careful.

For the past fifteen years ( and longer) gov’ts worldwide have been carefully choosing their variables when it comes to calculating ‘flation. And without a doubt they have all been tailoring their statistics to minimize anything that indicates a high rate. So if the rate appears to go negative (deflation), it is probably just a matter of the level of bullshit we are being fed and told it’s ‘green shoots’.

Fuck the golden cross. this market is doomed. I’d say the more valid marker is the 50 week MA which we bumped agaqinst at 958. It has repelled every advance in a bear, and supported every decline in a bull since 1998. If we break above 50 week MA back test and hold above it, I would have to get out my rally hat, but this is an obvioud bear market rally. The lows have not yet been seen. Woodshedder will cover if he’s betting long.
