I’ve been hitting this market pretty good, however, I am not original. Pull up a 60 minute chart and look at the MACD. Buy the indexes when they go bullish/bearish. SSO and SDS are great for this. If you want to get ballsy, TNA and TZA are good too. Look at the past 10 weeks or so where this occurs and you can see that it is a very safe and effective plan. The key is also waiting for the MACD to stay positive/negative for a substantial amount of time 3-4 days or so, then when it crosses, execute.

When it crosses above 0 you enter long, and below 0 you enter short?
Hugo, lets say the MACD on a 60 minute chart of SSO has been negative for about 3 days. (A good amount of time for market direction on an index that is asking for a slight reversal) Once it crosses the zero (0) line, I give it a little time to see if the crossover is real and is going positive, then I go long the SSO or SPY.
I do the complete opposite and go long SDS or SH.
Repeat.
It is nice not giving a shit about earnings, CEOs, crooks, P/E ratios, falsified rumors, and dipshits on CNBC pumping stocks. I just trend trade the index.
