I live in one of the first provinces in Canada that had an “outbreak” and it was no where near as interesting as living in Toronto during the whole SARS outbreak.
It seemed however to coincide with SPY turning dramatically south after a big break this morning so I thought perhaps there was some news driven pricing going on.

Living in Toronto when we had the SARS wasn’t really that interesting. If you avoided Pacific Mall, you were fine
I was in Scarborough and was amazed at the disconnect between what was reported nationally and internationally and the day to day life which was unaffected by SARS.
That being said, the scariest moment was on the bus one day when someone started coughing and didn’t stop for about thirty seconds.

Anyone playing the UNG? Looks to be taking off now for a nice huge all-day run. This could very well be the reversal.
I’m long a little bit of it (UNG). I think there’s a chance it might fall as low as $10, where I’ll pick up more. But here isn’t so bad considering the potential.
If it breaks $16 on the upside, I’ll add more too.
What is the value of your portfolio fly?
In regards to UNG, I sense that we are bouncing off the bottom here long term. Volume has been spiking over recent weeks, and we reversed off the bottom on last weeks inventory numbers. I am hoping this has legs, but we will see tomorrow. I don’t want to see this move too far too fast. As a matter of fact, I would like to see it stay under $15 today.

I think we are close to a bottom too…but just comparing it to how USO bottomed makes me think there might be a bit left to fall, if not just to shake out some people who were trying to pick the bottom over the past month. I’m the opposite of you. I’d like to see it clear $15 and hold : )
Oh well, we sliced through $15. Now we need to stay above $15 for today and tomorrow.

It doesn’t seem to me like there is anything that will derail this route on the dollar. The commodity bubble last year was the straw that broke the economy’s back. This next bubble will break the dollar’s back and end in hyperinflation.
You are going to need 10% gains in your portfolio simply to keep up with inflation soon enough. The sad thing is that the fed is powerless this time.

The refi’s contributed to some of the recent “greater wealth effect”…but play is done now. j: I am long leaning and have been for awhile now especially in commodities, I mean as I look right now I am up 103% on DXO here and just killing it in UNG too. My “bitterness” is that there are so many reason to sell off and we are just ignoring them. To me this means we could come in to a rip your intestines out day which could derail everything. I mean we were in a depression a couple months ago and now we are just rip roaring bull marketing ahead? We have a fucking so called pandemic on our hands and oil is rocketing? We only lost 3/8 of a million jobs last month and we are in the clear? Don’t think so. Bottom line I could give a fuck right now, I am hedged some but net long with career heavy positions in oil and nat gas while short a touch of gasoline. If we finish under 950 today I say we could be fucked but if we hold over it I will be buying in size SSO to hit 1000. Either way my PnL is green today yet again.
