Good thinking ALpha. CFC is money. By 2010 these guys will have 30% of the mortgage market and subprime will be a thing of the past. People will look back and wish they bought more CFC at these depressed prices. What , does anyone think BoA was stupid buying at $18 . They knew they were getting a steal. Rumors early in the year had BoA buying CFC for $50 + per share which most analysts agreed was fair value for CFC. Now the stock trades at $13 and change. These guys make make most of their money from servicing loans on their book not originating new loans. Keep that in mind too. So CFC does not have to originate another loan for the next 3 years and they will still be banking coin.
