Now I’m really pissed. I almost used thjis exact version of Old Man last night, but After the Gold Rush was (of course) more thematic.
Of course I get all these comments today, but not one mentions the greatness of Neil.
Gotta love how he talks about the old rancher on his spread… kind of embarrassed at his new found wealth and all. Much different than the crusty cynical Neil Young of today.
But what a fucking song… only “Needle and the Damage Done” is better, I think.
One of my favorite shows was an outside show during the Harvest Moon release. It was night and the moon was out. All the hippie chicks were swaying to the music. Definitely a memorable evening.
One of my favorite live performance videos.

That one is excellent.
my favorite song to play with some cats i grew up with in the hood…..wooden ships.
One of the best ever!

Apparently, Neil quite liked it and gave it his blessing.
