I would blame the ban on short sellers before I would lame the short sellers. Afterall…
short sellers create buying demand during a panic because they take profits, they provide liquidity that prevents an even greater crash, and it allows people to hedge when they can’t sell positions, preventing large liquidation…
Additionally, powerful rallies occur that help stabilize market because of shorts covering.
