I think the word Lojack implies the device can receive and transmit data via radio over a substantial distance. That is a big difference from a device that can only be accessed when in possession of or in close proximity to the vehicle. One day, privacy conscious people will have shielded RF-tight garages for things that cannot be turned off easily. The general public is too stupid to realize the end game of life on a network.
