Both Smith and Wesson and Netflix are up more than 800% over the past 5 years — making them the two biggest equity winners during the Obama regime. No man has sold more guns than Obama.
Back in the 3rd quarter of 2011, Smith and Wesson did $92m in sales. Now they’re doing more than $200m, enjoying 40% year over year revenue growth. When Americans aren’t planning for armed revolt against their government, they’re learning about them by watching House of Cards on Netflix.
In the 3rd quarter of 2011, Netflix did $821 in sales. Now they’re doing upwards of $2.2b per quarter — growing at a 30% clip.
What can we deduce from all of this bullshit?
People thought Obama was the Manchurian candidate. They fashioned him to be a communist agitator and then an Islamic soldier, whose main goal was to raid the homes of Americans and seize their weapons. Because of this fear, people went out in droves and bought guns. The counter conspiracy theory here is Obama clandestinely wanted to arm Americans to the fucking teeth, in order to fend off a future threat. Or, he wasn’t all that conniving and simply spewed out leftist rhetoric, which resulted in a reflexive republic buying more guns to protect against a shadow enemy.
The Netflix explanation is more direct. We’ve been saddled with a millennial generation who have scrambled eggs for brains. Instead of sitting by the fireside to read the classics, learning about human history, they drone on all day and night watching youtube videos and Netflix programming.
There’s a divergence of ideals taking place across America — where urbanites sashay in and out of upscale eateries and then sloth and rot away in front of their televisions for nightcaps. And then you have a more rural America who believes the government is literally run by a satanic cult, arming themselves for a biblical showdown of good versus evil.
As you know by now, this dissonance has manifested itself, writ large, during the Presidential elections. Last election was a fight between an aspiring black American leader, who wanted to bring forth change, versus a checkered pants republican who represented old money and big money interests. This election is, plainly, a fight of good versus evil.
America, land of the dramatic — created by Hollywood.
