I Have Some New Names

Typically I hide names that I am researching for fear that some of you pikers will front run me and force me to pay up. But then it dawned on me: we’re in a bull market and you have your own stocks that are ripping higher. You are much less likely to buy mines now than at any other time in the history of the market.

I’ve discovered some very interesting small cap names, most of which are growing rapidly, thinly traded, and filled with promise.

First let me start by saying, I am most bullish on CRTO and SALE out of all of my positions. I believe SALE is in its infancy of providing value to retailers, unlike GRPN. Should SALE trade down tomorrow due to GRPN’s swing and a miss, I will be buying.

Here are the new names.

PRCP- Devil pick
MRIN
SILC
RENT
SMT
STRT
ADEP
CUI
ATTU
NLST
SEV

I am in the beginning stages of research, sifting through reports, listening to conference calls. Right away I am attracted to SEV and STRT for their automobile exposure. Do you know that ignition, lock and key for your car? Odds are it is made by STRT. SEV is a play on electric cars, sans TSLA. They provide parts.

These are all potential home runs; that is the purpose of this exercise. I am not looking for small 20-30% winners. I am looking for a small cap name that I can put a few million behind and let it ride. Sometimes group think helps. Let me know if you like any of them.

PVA (25% of float short) cranking should fuel KWK (26% of float short) into earnings. Fact or fiction?

I will peruse those names for sure but FURX looks like a biotech home run candidate. 1 billion dollar company with one phase 3 candidate that has ability to generate 1 billion a year. I like those odds, especially in this climate.

Big Data transfer company; I thought would have been bought out already by Oracle or Microsoft. It’s literally one of the last ones left. Sound fundies and a nice rounded bottom “Or Cup and Handle” what ever you want to call it. I been in since $8 when they did a secondary four months back.

The other thing I like is it’s low float and the fact it doesn’t move with the SP or other indices which is nice in a 6% down turn…lol

Love the PRCP. That ATTU looks ready.

LXFT one more to watch/buy right now. Great growth story, gonna rip again very soon after this short consolidation after the earnings pop.

On quick glance I don’t have a favorite without more study. I notice PRCP and CUI are in the same industry (Electronic Equip & Instruments), so I would pick one or the other depending on further research. MRIN I would avoid since I was holding some advertising stocks last week and sold them all since they appeared to peak.

Except for Tesla all the auto manufacturers have started the year weak on stock performance (F, GM, HMC) so I’m leary of that sector. SEV may then be the best pick if TLSA’s sales will continue increasing.

Cool idea behind STRT. I would never be able to buy given the run it has had, though.

I know it’s not on your list, but TFM has been crushed lately and I know you’ve been watching the health food industry… any thoughts here?

I don’t follow this company (and barely look at the industry broadly) at all, so sadly I have next to nothing to ad…

Dear Fly, in this more ‘uncertain’ and ‘volatile’ market, would it not be better to be in big(ger) cap stocks so that you can go in and out easier? This way, if there is volatility, you will not feel like you have to hold on. Just a thought.

Natty looks to be establishing a new price range here. Small cap nat gas related could be good.

The nat gas revolution is a old story but with most commodity based ideas it takes a bull move in the commodity to get it rolling. Now that the idea is burned out, may be the time for it to happen.

SMT – Interracial baby pops out of same race wife scary. No thanks.
RENT – Looks like the future of performance monitoring across the board. Is there a competitor of any major significance? This information is only going to become more and more valuable to companies. As of now, yes please.
MRIN – Smooth 6 Billion of cash they are distributing. Into it.
    AATU – Into it.
    SALE – Heck yes.

PRCP looks very nice and have added it to my watchlist.

If it should recapture those recent 52 week highs, I see no reason why it can’t go to 25 and beyond in short order (courtesy of some quick volume profile analysis).

The always enjoyable earnings minefield is out of the way for now too. I like this one a lot.
