The Jon Stewart Bottom

jonstwartbottom

See that chart up above, pal? That represents the low intelligence quotient of our media (Jon Stewart interview, March 12th, 2009 aka “The Absolute Bottom” in the market). Granted, Jon Stewart is a comedian, a clown if you will—masquerading on the teevee, doing all sorts of zany things. However, if you recall, people were applauding him for ripping into Jim Cramer, who made the horrific error of making bullish calls on the stock market (shocker). Back then, the market was on the precipice of death and Jim Cramer was a pariah. Fast forward 7 months and Jon Stewart is shining Jim Cramer’s shoes. Believe you me, I do not kowtow to Jim, mainly because I do not care about Jim. “The Fly” is indifferent in that he hates everyone equally. Hate is a powerful thing; it’s better than psychotropics.

At any rate, in retrospect, I think it’s worth mentioning how incredibly idiotic and sophomoric Jon Stewart was, on March 12th, 2009 aka THE ABSOLUTE BOTTOM. Scratch that: Jon was/is a nefarious and “goon-like” caricature of someone who hides behind the veil of humor, using his bully pulpit to make politically charged accusations and cast aspersions upon those who are easy targets, all the while behaving in a very “ha, ha, look at me I am a big red nosed clown” sort of way. Cramer, with his affable Wall Street persona, was the perfect target, not only for Jon [sic] and his ridiculous show, but for all of America—due to their “brick in water” approach to investing, all thanks and praise to our mutual fund/pension fund industry— fully invested at all times— covenants.

In short, Cramer gets the last laugh and should be permitted to throw a whipped cream pie into the nose of Mr. Stewart, quite frankly and ever so sincerely.

    AMEN!

It’s so “in” for investors to tear apart Cramer at every opportunity. But he never gets credit…for anything. He is right, sometimes. He’s wrong sometimes, too. Anyone whose investing ideas were put on a national stage 5 days a week with millions of viewers would be wrong a lot, too. And hated.

And Stewart is like a Jesus figures to the “PROGRESSIVES” (stops typing, vomits in a bag). He’s an intellectual bully who takes cheap shots when people are defenseless.

Cramer called something like 8 bottoms during 2008 and then proceeded to get all gloomy just as often. He’s bipolar and best not paid attention to. I’m not making this up, it was almost in the double digits.

” best not paid attention to” – – – now thats the truth.
Remember his housing bottom call this summer, as home forclosures continue to rise to this day and are excelerating. What about his Bear Sterns defense and crazy, mad, session where he went absolutely insane against the shorts. The shorts who were covering started this rally by the way, many people forget that.
Jim Cramer is a trader turned entertainer. I rarely and I mean very rarely watch him. when I do it for entertainment and to see which stock he is trying to pump up so that I can watch it and get short once the idiots all jump in. Now his being bipolar is not the problem, hell lots of people are bipolar and can be treated and can be quite normal. He is just an idiot and that cannot be treated or cured.

Good post and a well deserved ear slapping of a ridiculous clown: Stewart that is. He’s such an arsehole and I can’t stand how people like the twerp. I thought baldy copped an undeserved hiding that day.

However more importantly, what is it with the use of charts these days as it’s very disconcerting to watch a grown and successful gentleman possibly heading towards the un-reason and unscientific universe of charting.

Honest to goodness I’ll crack my screen with my bare hands if you ever dare to put up a chart with technical indicators up. That will test the limits of anyone’s patience

    >>Cramer, with his affable Wall Street persona…<<

This is the first time I’ve ever heard the self-admitted computer-monitor-thrower described as “affable”. Is this the same guy who, the week before Bear Stears collapsed, said it was “fine”? Hey, Cramer’s “opening monologue” is often genuinely funny, but as for his “market calls”, he’s way too bi-polar and self-contradictory to be useful.

The sad part is that many youngsters (under 35) believe they are actually getting the news from Jon Stewart and Saturday Night Live.
Of course they lean left and I believe Obama carried this audience group in huge numbers because of their constant attacks on Conservatives and Moderates.

Visual media has the ability to amplify situations to a far greater degree than print. Poorly educated people (about any particular subject) are nothing but sugar imbibing fat fuck amoebas that fall victim to those who wave their arms the loudest, speak with the sharpest tongue, and can act the most confident doing so. Remember, those whose job it is to entertain and write often spend more time perfecting that craft, their livelihood. But enough about Obama, the Daily Show is for jerkoffs.

Best I recall, the slapping was directed at cnbc as much as it was cramer. Singling Cramer out might have been overmuch, but kicking the shit out of cnbc was long overdue. Indeud, lots of ink has been spilled on this site for the same reason.

Yes, in the original interview, Stewart mentioned this several times…that it was more about CNBC’s “responsible” financial reporting and that Cramer was just the unfortunate face of it all. The main “beef” was the false advertising of it all.

And there has been so much Cramer-bashing on this here site as well, that to put him on a pedestal now seems a rather odd choice. Cause you know, even a broken clock is right twice a day (or once in Europe).

As far as getting your news from Stewart (& Colbert’s) brand of comedy…well, it’s just about as good as getting it from the “Fair & Balanced” FOX News or “Obama Shoe-shine Boy” MSNBC.

      To each its own…

for the poor retard’s sakes, foxnews a joke network.

… but we all know that.

I think steward and colbert just became left wing bizaro to foxnews right. the left media couldn’t match up to foxnews clowns disguised as journalists. So they came up with late night shows with clowns disguised as journalists. my vote goes to the comedy shows where at least they advertised themselves as jokers. foxnews present itself as a news network. therefore, they fail.

          Cramer’s an entertainer.

Actually, I think it’s the other way around…while FOX has always had a conservative bias, they didn’t become clownish until after The Daily Show rose to prominence during Indecision 2000.

And despite Jake’s knee-jerk retard reactions, the fact remains that The Daily Show is first and foremost a comedy show (for 30minutes/day, 4 days a week, on COMEDY central). It just happens to make fun of news and is hosted by a liberal.

Now tell me how that’s worse than an entire channel that labels itself “news” yet is nothing but conservative propaganda and Obama hate-mongering??

I ended up talking with an older woman at a club last night. She
    looked O.K. for a 57-year-old.
In fact, she wasn’t too bad at all, and I found myself thinking
that she probably has a hot daughter.

We drank a bit, and a had a bit of a snuggle, and she asked if
    I’d ever had a Sportsman’s Double.
    “What’s that?” I asked
“It’s a mother and daughter threesome,” she said.
    “Wow” I said excitedly.
We drank a bit more and then she declared it was my “lucky
    night”.

We went back to her place.
She put on the hall light and shouted upstairs: “Mom, you still
    awake?”

I wanted to reveal today the reasons why I took down the buttons which highlighted my positions. Many people assumed that I am managing money now and do not want to reveal my positions. This is incorrect because no fool in their right mind would want me managing their money especially when I am getting devistated with drawdown about 90% of the time.

The real reason is because I have been very embarassed by missing the big move up from March and even on my long positions, like PETS, I can’t seem to make a dime. So to save face and be humble, the buttons have been removed. Please feel free to discuss in the comments section.

For all those who wrote me wanting to write on my blog, I will get in touch with you later on. My plan is to make the blog self sufficient and to fill it with complex strategies that dont work, but make you believe they work. Thereby, you might be encouraged to take out a subscription to prophet and buy my book. BTW, my second book is coming called Chart Your Way to Profit II. Since I blew all but 1 of my trading accounts shorting this move up, I need to publish a second book on trading in order to send my kids to school. Pleasse feel free to check on Amazon. Even if you have not read the book, feel free to put a positive review in there.

No, Stewart did not gut Cramer for making bullish calls.

He did so because Cramer was screaming, buy, buy, buy regarding the stock of financial institutions that were circling the bowl. He then denied doing so, as Stewart’s show-by-show play-by-play of clips from MadMoney proved.

He called out cramer for a lack of critical analysis and stupid cheerleading, all while urging Mr. & Ms. Plastic Lunchbucket that he is a guru to be followed and that the market is “a game.”

France’s beloved “Le Fly” usually de-balls and calls out the cramers of the world with wit and humor.

But your sermon today was a miss.
