Just a note to watch the upcoming Japanese election and what it may mean in terms of policy changes.
It increasingly looks like the LDP will suffer its first election loss since the war. The new party is very much interested in seeing changes in the policy mix that will try to favor rises in living standards through increases in domestic consumption.
If this is the policy route they are going to take, my guess is that they will try to weaken the Japanese Yen through much more aggressive QE policies.
Japan is “dead man walking.” Demographically, they are going to zero, unless they import the Phillipines, or Korea (they won’t do the latter, no matter what).
So is USA unless white people start breeding like mad.. we keep bringing in illegals and inbreds from all over the world as if that will be our salvation..working wonderfully..Seal the southern border throw out illegal and start generating and industrial base with stimulus $..And put the kids that are not college or high school material in vocational schools of their chose would be a step in right direction
Wow, that is so full of racialist nonsense, I don’t even know where to begin.
First, let’s start at “we’re still above replacement rate.”
Second, we are a nation of immigrants, and when that stops, we lose. Only the best and brightest have the brains and the gumption to get here with their families. Yes, even the Mexicans and other South Americans I presume you are referring to above.
You want to come here to work? God bless you, you are welcome.
“Only the best and brightest have the brains and the gumption to get here with their families.”
You should throw LEGALLY in there somewhere. Any dumbass with two working legs can wade across the Rio Grande. H!B visa holders are here legally. Tech employers love it too, since it helps depress wages.
I’ve got no problem with immigration. We need a growing population to keep the government Ponzi scheme working. As long as they have jobs and put in more than they take out.
BTW Foreign remittances are the second largest legal source of income for Mexico, next to oil.
Dave — you seem to think it’s a walk in the park to wade across the Rio Grande? Not me. You still have to have the fire in the belly to make things better for yourself.
It’s that “great sucking sound” from the gene pools of all the countries with worse opportunities than we offer that makes America as strong as it has been, and will continue.
What worries me is that with the Obamanists in power, we just become another Euro country, and why bother? Especially if you are from India or China and thinking about where to alight.
Well said Jake. I have a lot of admiration for a person that will leave their home country and risk everything to earn a living for their family. I know many American born natives that won’t cross the street to work.

This spam protection is not working because some people like mrkcbill use calculators. Karl could be right – I agree that this is not your usual downturn. However, all economists and predictors are wrong most of the time – therefore, picking which economist is right is just as difficult as ………well, predicting the future. There are a couple of economists who are predicting 3.5 to 4% growth soon and there are others like Roubini and Schilling . I would like to know Karl’s investment record.
Looks like it’s going to be Cink over Watson in the British Open playoff.
And on another note this is how our Government works and how the stimulus $$ are literally pissed away.
A contract was awarded for $1,191,200 for a two pound sliced ham. Porkulous at work. And they want to control our healthcare.
That $595,600/lb. sliced ham contract was awarded to:
Clougherty Packing Company is the West Coast’s leading pork packer, making products sold under the Farmer John brand name. These include bacon, ham, sausage, and wieners. The company sells more than 400 million pounds of pork a year. The extra-long Dodger Dogs the company sells at Dodger Stadium are a baseball legend. Family-owned for generations, in late 2004 the company was sold to Hormel Foods Corp., which was expanding its presence in the Southwest. Clougherty has a 900,000-square-foot plant on a ten-acre site near downtown Los Angeles and hog farming operations outside of California.
Never had a Dodger Dog but willing to give it a try.
I’m a fan of a Chicago Style Hot Dog (Vienna Beef, steamed sesame seed bun, bright green relish, onions, mustard, thin sliced tomato,half-sour pickle slice, two sport peppers and some celery salt on top).
The best part of that show is the people who (apparently are cave dwellers) have never heard the show, and call up all angry at the “guest” because of whatever outrageous thing Henrdrie decided to make the show about that day.
It blows my mind that he never has any dearth of callers who don’t know it’s a schtick.
Monster post full of shit about gold and the dollar. Don’t miss the link to Peter Fleckenstein’s analysis of the first 400 pages of the House Obamacare bill, either:
hey trader caddy – great posts by the way..love your stuff….anyway – re hot dogs….don’t forget the other ingredient – the 16 rat hairs – I believe that is the acceptable level to pass hot dog FDA regs…bon apetit….
With all due respect, I was wondering what the appeal to doing Ibankcoin for you is…
if you are making money being successful in the market it can’t be monetary..or fthe pursuit of and adoring public or the fame since you choose to be anonymous? I often wonder not just with you, but with guys like Michael Parnass – what’s the appeal? It can’t be monetary…but those commercials must cost him plenty ..
So is the howard Linzon model what you aspire to? Do you plan on getting bought by marketwatch?
I see you are on stocktwits a lot too….is there a connection there as well? thanks!
I am just starting to understand how complex the online world of marketing is…. good luck..great job! Love this place…

Dave;
It’s not that I don’t know you’re , your, their, they’re, there. I fuck it up at times as I rarely ever proof read.
Thanks fro bringing that up though, dipshit
Well, I don’t believe you. You probably had to hit the submit comment button fifteen times to even make a comment. ; )
Karl’s in rare form here:

What is our budding dictator / politician / hair-club-for-men spokesperson up to now?
KC boy TOMMY WATSON works for GS
Sorry , But Karl’s wrong, the economy is turning around and that’s all there is to it. The recession was over early last month.
How many houses were bought at Cramer’s Housing Bottom?
Surely a currency trader like yourself can tell the difference between a dollar meltdown and an “economic turnaround?”
