As you all know, the annual iBC dinner was held in NYC this weekend. Being a newcomer to the site, but having known these guys for years, it was an opportunity I has been looking forward to for a long time.
We sat around a table full of cocktails, oysters, egregious servings of mutten, which then parlayed into a “rapper’s ball” of evening cocktails as the group went P. Diddy mode with Courvoisier into dessert. The conversations were epic. My wife and I were trying to get Chuck Bennet’s favorite travel spots, Chess and I were talking how to break down a 1-3-1 zone defense and how to blow your minds at the upcoming first annual iBankCoin investor conference, RC and I were catching up on old history as he and I go way back, while Fly and I spoke over financial blogging domination, and old stories of your most beloved financial professionals and how they are inferior in one way or another.
Meeting up with these guys solidified in my mind that collectively, this is the best one stop shop on the internet for free and premium financial content. Walking away from that event, I regretted not joining ranks sooner.
As for the market, we’ve seen some shitty breadth today, with a pretty lousy $TICK reading about an hour ago. However, look at the stocks leading the way here. They are not of the defensive nature. I still like this divergence between risk stocks and the overall market and think that is still your primary tell in the market until it fails.
My GRPN is going YELP-style into earnings, giving me a good move to book gains into. I took WB here and am in the process of shopping for more.

I liked $PCLN, but too late. The only other thing I like is $VMW. Nice pattern on daily and vol profile on weekly shows potential to move higher.

and *facepalm* i sold it 100% ago. thought 22 point move, now 40. i had to shut down to not chase after it.

that run on Friday was nice…it was at a point where I thought it could drop to 400, but then it made that steady afternoon climb. It found a buyer.
yea it had a nice recovery off the opening lows.
NFLX looks good – I had puts on it on Friday that were looking fantastic until it bounced off its lows. managed to close out at a good profit before it went parabolic (while I was at Six Flags – mobile broadband I love you!)

Starting to see the power of options. I’m holding 10 positions which I almost never would do with stock. Having a limited downside has enabled me to take more on and feel comfortable, It really gives me the confidence to take the set ups I want knowing the full risk beforehand.
