Good Call, Dude. Start a Blog.

It’s funny how many experts come out of the closet after days such as yesterday. It’s not very becoming for one to root against the financial destruction of others, but I’ve created a list of traders, who’s financial funeral I will attend once defeat has been declared.

You might not know this about me, but I used to run a blog many years ago, when blogging was moderately cool, but was losing value with all the new market “experts” being born. I used to have a significant amount of internet traffic that went my way, equal to or greater than many of your current favorite bloggers. I turned the blog into a community, where we’d have hundreds of comments on each of the multiple entries I would write per day. The point was to educate, help others, and always respect the opinions of those trying to find their way in this bitch of a career we call “trading.”

Look, I’ve tried to create a spot here that’s not behind a password to share ideas. From where I started, I’ve managed to get folks to interact in a positive atmosphere. I quickly shed the riff-raff, and do what I can to help others and promote mutual respect. This is what gets people comfortable enough to put themselves out there and interact. I don’t care about what types of ideas you have. You can be a bull or a bear, cool. I respect an opinion that gives opposition to an idea I have; awesome. But don’t be “Mr. Show Up for the Win” and be an asshole. Nobody cares about your call. Don’t come here to throw off my qi. If you have a point to make, or want to show up for the win and rub it in an arrogant fashion, take your ideas and start a blog. All the cool kids are doing it.

Going forward, let’s focus on opportunity as opposed to right or wrong. I have a new watchlist we’ll review after the bell. I like our odds heading into next week.

Most of us guys need our ego stroked Jeff. That’s how conmen get your money, tossing compliments around. I think we’re all pleased when one of our guesses gets lucky and wins big, we love getting the praise.

      I think there’s a difference though.

A “Look at my win” versus a “told you so” and calling out a doubter is pretty inappropriate.

Oh for sure, you should wait for others to notice your win and give the old “aw shucks, it was nothing” if your top shelf material

geek, what’s cool about this place is that we all go through the ups and downs together, and many times on the exact same trade. We tend to get protect our own.

OA has done a masterful job on keeping this blog at the penthouse, and not in the basement with the rest of the trash blogs out there.

I agree, that’s why I put some of my entries and exits on here. Instead of me getting nailed for that kind of post, it started a great convo.

One commenter asked me about the trade I posted – it was a SLW put. We talked about it and gave the opposite opinion. He was spot on and I was wrong. I learned a lot.

I bought some calls this morning around $9 FWIW. $9 seems like a good spot for a stop.

Never my intention to call anyone out. Also I never wished for ppl to lose money. That is a misconception. I came here to share ideas as well. Seeing ur calls in the past couple of months I was like dang this guy should be running a hedge fund. But when u said the mkt was just getting started I just wanted to know what catalysts u had for being bullish cuz I only saw bad things coming. Then someone made a cheap shot comment about it after all I did was inquire about ur viewpoint. Crucify if u must but all I did was come seeking knowledge and different points of view

My apologies if I’m overlooking he obvious, but is there a page that explains a little more about your After Hours service OA? I found lots of details about TA and wasn’t sure how After Hours differed from that. Thanks in advance!
