Dow has barely moved and the NASDAQ is slightly lower. All the while oil is up and the VIX is also up and nothing makes sense. Cryptos are selling off, but crypto related stocks are up. Short squeezes are abound and there is strong momentum in numerous areas of the market. To find them, you need to be skilled. This is not a market for old men. Well, actually, old men stocks are doing well in 2021. My point remains constant, however, you cannot simply go out there and expect to win like you did in early 2021.
I was flat at the open — but now higher by 110bps. I initiated new Quant position, which is +24% YTD. The Quant is rebalanced the 1st of every month and it absolutely crushes the market, now heavily leaning towards financials.
