Steve Bannon is a Hero Now: Trump’s Big Beautiful Trade War is History in Real Time

Remember when people thought Steve would be the next one for Mueller to possibly toss into a prison cell? WRONG. Now Steve Bannon is making the rounds, talking about how Trump is literally the best President since Calvin Coolidge for punching China in the nose.

Here’s the talked about interview on CNBC aired yesterday.

Nasdaq futures are nearly up 100. Everything is going up and China is like a meaningless speck of dirt brushed off of our broad shoulders. There is nothing the Chinese can do but bend the knee now and beg us for forgiveness. This war is going to decimate Beijing and markets will celebrate this with even moar gain.

China sucks. Their food sucks, and they spit all over the place. Big smokers too. No sense of personal space, if you are in an elevator solo and a Chinaman gets in, he will literally stand face to face with you. It’s fucking weird. And rude. And they cheat at the Olympics too. Quality of most of their products suck.

I like to hear someone final talk about the long view. I’m skeptical of course because DC and WS are chock full of people who only care about themselves…its always about the next quarter, the next election cycle. People give lip service to the long term horizon but shit never happens because its about immediate results, the here and now – produce or perish. I guess its wait and see at this point.

    Bend the knee? Really?
China plays the long game always and they may give Donald a victory because they know that he is undermining the people’s trust in their democratic institutions and they want to do everything possible to keep that happening.
Destroy the credibility of the free press?
Undermine the integrity of law enforcement and the courts?
Bring the constitutional functions of Congress into question?
Interfere with the regulation of the US dollar?
    Check, check, check, and check.
Trump is wreaking unprecedented damage on the USA and there is no way Xi, or Putin, will stand in his way.

Our press and our institutions undermined themselves when they lied us into several illegal wars and then spent two years ginning-up hostilities against Russia while ignoring the elephant-in-the-room of election manipulation!

You fuckers all hate the mexicans but I’ve been trying to tell you China is the enemy. China sucks – if they catch you jaywalking w their video surveillance recorders they immediately fine your WeWe account. Unless, I guess, your attractiveness score is high enough. And then they still might let you travel. Fuck China man. We don’t need them. And we need to be in control of the new tech (aka 5g) not them. Tighten your belts bitches now we are playing the long game. Trump’s a fucking loser but I’m pro tariff in this instance

Heckler, it you want to continue with trash talk (fine by me), you should consider using an image of something other than a skinny pubescent boy with a daisy on his headscarf. Just sayin’.

I agree with a lot of what Bannon says. But are the Chinese reliant on US for financing? Do we save more than the Chinese? Has our system of zero real interest encouraged savings and investing?

I agree that this mess came about due to our corp execs transferring technology and manufacturing expertise to cheap labor China ..but those execs might correctly have characterized this as their fiduciary duty.

But China isn’t the innocent (by our non-commie standards) that he portrays. Now that they have our expertise, they have decided on a bunch of areas that they seek to dominate and which they protect and subsidize while we sat around congratulating ourselves for being inventive. Trump has finally blustered into an area that needs to be addressed – but it’s too bad that he has alienated the Russians and most of the ROW who should be allied with us in this confrontation.

I don’t see how a higher tax rate for goods produced in China/foreign countries is any different? His solution was just calling it a tax vs. tarriff?

          Bingo.

In fact, tariffs are superior because they can more easily target specific countries at will and can be easily added or removed.

If this was part of the Income Tax code, we’d need a different section for each country and even samll changes would likely take Congressional action.
