Honestly, I appreciated that. At least we know where everyone stands. They should publicize debates by our elected representatives the same way the UK does with the Prime Minister being forced to go before the House of Commons and answer questions and have a debate.
You have to know how to properly debate to have a real debate. Good lawyers know how and they know the tricks to convince people that valid logic is the same as sound logic. In general, we get combative over subjects that are good to debate and do not argue positions with civility which is one of the tricks in winning an argument. Most politicians do not want to reveal their real position these days until elected. And I could argue that this is smart. I could argue, is this right for the nation? I’ve thought this way since I chose to take “Logic” in College. A very hairy subject.

I tend to agree with that. GOP got pretty much what it was after and is going to have to rebrand itself to attract new voters going forward. I can see them trying to quietly lay as much blame on Trump as possible over the next two years.

I initially gave most of Trump’s abse the benefit of the doubt, after all ,Hillary was the Establishment Status Quo in the flesh. However, he still has a huge number (at least 33%) of the public supporting him.
I hope that their 2 SC justices will help Trump’s base pay their bills, because that Tax Cut sure won’t. The deserve what they get, including
1) the Florida voters that wonder why their beaches have are multi-colored water,,
2) the Midwest voters that wonder why factory jobs don’t pay as much as they used to,
3) the Appalachian workers that wodner why their tap water literally makes their skin crawl,
4) the Southern voters that wonder why their public schools are so bad.
5) and the anti-Swamp voters that wonder why Corporations are considered people with 1st Amendment rights (hint: it was a party-line SC decision)
Not that the Democrats are that much better, but they are the lesser evil more often than not

I’m unsure that Mr. Trump is the reason for all these moves anymore. I think the markets are coming to understand that the situation is more precarious than the past 2 years would suggest. It’s a battle between those who see this new volatile outlook for the markets, and those who think it will stabilize and be business as usual again.
I don’t have a favorite here, but I will be watching with great interest.
