VIX COLLAPSES: WHO WISHES THEY COULD OWN XIV HERE?

The good news is that SBUX is taking steps against being racist faggots. On May 29th they’ll be closing all 8,000 stores in order to re-educate people on racial matters. I’d love to be a fly on the wall during one of these faggot meetings.

“Listen here Brad, when you see two African-American gentlemen sitting peacefully in the store, do not call the police on them.”

What happened to common sense?

In other news, a famed British journalist, Robert Fisk, visited the town of Douma, Syria and concluded the town was not gassed.

This is the story of a town called Douma, a ravaged, stinking place of smashed apartment blocks–and of an underground clinic whose images of suffering allowed three of the Western world’s most powerful nations to bomb Syria last week. There’s even a friendly doctor in a green coat who, when I track him down in the very same clinic, cheerfully tells me that the “gas” videotape which horrified the world– despite all the doubters–is perfectly genuine.

War stories, however, have a habit of growing darker. For the same 58-year old senior Syrian doctor then adds something profoundly uncomfortable: the patients, he says, were overcome not by gas but by oxygen starvation in the rubbish-filled tunnels and basements in which they lived, on a night of wind and heavy shelling that stirred up a dust storm.

It was a short walk to Dr Rahaibani. From the door of his subterranean clinic–“Point 200”, it is called, in the weird geology of this partly-underground city–is a corridor leading downhill where he showed me his lowly hospital and the few beds where a small girl was crying as nurses treated a cut above her eye.

“I was with my family in the basement of my home three hundred metres from here on the night but all the doctors know what happened. There was a lot of shelling [by government forces] and aircraft were always over Douma at night–but on this night, there was wind and huge dust clouds began to come into the basements and cellars where people lived. People began to arrive here suffering from hypoxia, oxygen loss. Then someone at the door, a “White Helmet”, shouted “Gas!”, and a panic began. People started throwing water over each other. Yes, the video was filmed here, it is genuine, but what you see are people suffering from hypoxia–not gas poisoning.”

So the story of Douma is thus not just a story of gas–or no gas, as the case may be. It’s about thousands of people who did not opt for evacuation from Douma on buses that left last week, alongside the gunmen with whom they had to live like troglodytes for months in order to survive.

I walked across this town quite freely yesterday without soldier, policeman or minder to haunt my footsteps, just two Syrian friends, a camera and a notebook. I sometimes had to clamber across 20-foot-high ramparts, up and down almost sheer walls of earth. Happy to see foreigners among them, happier still that the siege is finally over, they are mostly smiling; those whose faces you can see, of course, because a surprising number of Douma’s women wear full-length black hijab.

…Oddly, after chatting to more than 20 people, I couldn’t find one who showed the slightest interest in Douma’s role in bringing about the Western air attacks. Two actually told me they didn’t know about the connection.

But it was a strange world I walked into. Two men, Hussam and Nazir Abu Aishe, said they were unaware how many people had been killed in Douma, although the latter admitted he had a cousin “executed by Jaish el-Islam [the Army of Islam] for allegedly being “close to the regime”. They shrugged when I asked about the 43 people said to have died in the infamous Douma attack.

Whatever.

The volatility index collapsed again.

Who wishes they could be long XIV here? It would be glorious.

Not much else to discuss, other than stay long stocks, short Russia — indifferent on anything coming out of the media

    $SVXY, $VMIN, short $VXX, short $UVXY, short $TVIX.

I prefer to sell call spreads, or buy put spreads on the long vol products.

There’s a million ways to skin a cat.

Come on in, the water is perfect.

Seriously though, put the amount you lost on $XIV into a separate account. Target 15% monthly returns through bear spreads on long vol ETFs. Bail if the VIX curve enters backwardation.

In 5 months you’re back to even.

I do like shorting ETF’s just bc they have a natural decay.. best is to find two 3x long and short and then short them both and re- balance every 15 days or a certain % threshold… that is the true money printer

No late selloff, S&P closes over 2700. Those CNBC chumps who called for S&P 3000 by year end will likely turn out to be right.

OIG BOMBSHELL, Hidden within the OIG report on McCabe’s leak to Barrett of the WSJ, is an astronomically damning correlation between Loretta Lynch, the NY Field Office of the FBI, McCabe, and the NYPD. PLEASE SHARE

Read the report yourself. It’s like a fiction novel, with political intrigue that anti-Clintonites will LOVE (you can thank the New York Times for the link).

      https://static01.nyt.com/files/2018/us/politics/20180413a-doj-oig-mccabe-report.pdf

Also, if the report is factualyl correct (which I presuem it is sicne it is the FBI and not Fox News), then McCabe deserved to be fired. He’ll do fine with a book deal anyway, so that makes up for his years of clean service.

(I didn’t see anything about the NYPD, though, and also McCabe only leaked to counteract WSJ misinformation that he had closed the Clinton investigation, whn in fact he had not closed it, so you can forget that FBI leadership is pro-Hilalry and anti-Trump bullshit)

Robert Fisk is a true journalist, not like those filthy marxist hacks who peddle deep state lies. Fisk was vilified many times in the past for reporting the truth, just like anybody and everybody who dares to speak the truth,

I feel compelled to have a catharsis moment here. On February the fifth I did something I usually am not accustomed to. I went in full retard on the $XIV. This was the Pearl Harbor of my portfolio, a day that will live in infamy. Now I’m amassing my resources to one day do a Hiroshima of profits, hoping to make my portfolio great again.

Capturing roll yield is all about chipping away while stepping on the occasional land mine.

      Good luck.

Didn’t Starbucks a few years ago write shit on people’s cup saying “ask me about race talk” or some shit like that? Wasn’t it them getting into racism by doing that? Guess that shit came full circle. Can’t they just get the fuck out of that business and worry about selling coffee? Seems to me like if someone threw someone out of the store for no reason then just fire that person or talk to them. No reason to shut ever story to tell all employees they are being racist. This cuntry is so fucked.

Being a little left-of-center, and I can call BS when I see it. That original SBUX policy was a bad idea. There are only four situations:
      1) White barrista, white customer: what is this supposed to accomplish
      2) Minority barrista, minority customer: they already know
      3) Minority barrista, white customer: so SBUX is forceing their minority workers into a racially oriented task that has nothing to do with their core business?
      4) White barrista, minority customer: even worse

While the intentions were good, the better way to handle this would have been to schedule open discussion about race at SBUX locations, and invite 1 or 2 speakers/moderators.

In terms of the current situation, there is nothing wrong with a company having a motivation other than maximum profit. If people don’t like the fact that SBUX wants to try and imporve racial inequalities, then buy your coffee elsewhere.

Also, a good business deals proactively with problems. Instead of reacting to individual situations, it is better to prevent those situations from occurring. SBUX management had thought tht it was obvious that you don’t kick out people just becuase they are minorities. They found out they were wrong about thier assumptions. Imagine waht would happen if they just dealth with that single manager and then the same thing happenned again in a differnt location. Company culture is always top-down, not bottom up. SBUX is taking the correct approacdh this time

In The Great White North, Brad will be getting the training.

Down South, 90% of the employees are black, so one black will train another black to be sensitive to black men loafing around.

The Dems eating themselves, it doesn’t get any better than this.

In the South, 90% of the employees might be black. As for the *managers*, I’d bet it is much more likely that 90% are white.

It was a manager that was the problem
