For many years OLED, previously known as PANL, was showcasing their OLED technology as the next standard in display technology. Most people discarded them because of MUH plasma and MUH led. Alas, here were are in 2017 and Apple has gobbled up all of the OLED supply, propelling shares of OLED through the roof.
There are ancillary winners in the space too, like UCTT and COHR, the latter pretty much having a monopoly on the lasers needed to produce OLED.
Today’s news out of WATT, getting FCC approval to produce wireless charging solutions up to 15 feet, has me thinking this is the next major technological advancement in the wireless space.
Here is a demo of their tech.
There were several big movers in the sector today, but the only tangible companies that I’ve found thus far are TESS, IDTI, SMTC and AVGO. The ‘wireless charger’ buzzword might help stocks like ZAGG and FH jimmy rig higher too; but make no mistake, this is a WATT story — with perhaps TESS playing a key role in distributing these devices.
With a market cap of only $187 million, there is significant upside to WATT.
Wireless fucking electricity. Amazing times.

what does this have to do with MUH blockchain?
Good point. Maybe Watt can get their shit on the blockchain to make some real gains.
Not speaking to trading and investment opportunities here. Best of luck to all.
Will be interesting to see if this catches on with consumers. The specific absorption rating is a number chosen, not a binary yes or no for safety. SAR could change years from now if health problems from long term RF exposure develop into a leading cause of death.
Will RF be to future generations what smoking is to generations alive today?
Really just supremely ironic. People fight cell phone towers but place a transmitter (cellphone) next top their heads. Now they can set up strong RF sources around the house with wireless charging..
I know about RF professionally. I stay away from it and try to keep my exposure low, such as by using speakerphone mode.
Google inverse square law rf
Just insane. By in large the public is a dull blade and will probably eat this up.
So you’re saying everyone is gonna get cancer?
Maybe the real play here is biotech then.
I don’t know. One thing is certain, cell phone use by billions will soon show if RF exposure is harmful. The mother of all product safety studies. The problem is that it might take decades to develop.
I don’t think many people will mind getting terminal cancer if it means they can keep their potato-chip-eating-exercise-hating arses on the couch while face-booking on their Apple X.
Inverse square law FTW.
If this charges at 15′ away, that means that either
1) it is VERY slow, or
2) the EMF waves are very strong
Regardless of which one, the system would also be extremely inefficient. It would be like using a sprinkler system to fill a bucket on the floor.
The LED demo is cool. I wonder what would happen to a chocolate bar placed at the Energous system focal point?
I wonder how Kim Jong-un wun lung tung feels now that I can shoot his missiles out of the sky with my TV remote-supercharged-energy-bubble-shooter thingee.
The Mobil [sp] ads on this site are gay AF.
Banned!
Got to keep the lights on dog. I barely sold a million worth of Exodus subs this year.
Market cap is already at $650M. Much more room for upside?
