Tucker Carlson Asks the Question: Will the Left Refute America’s Forefathers Because They Owned Slaves?

I cannot see how the left cannot call for George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and others to be removed from the public square, libraries, museums, universities and our currency.

Since the left is out to get all racists, feverishly on the lookout for nazis and alt-right retards, ripping down statues of confederates, why not go to the source of all this racism, eh? America’s forefathers.

41 out of 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence owned slaves. Therefore, and using the same logic we’re applying to the white supremacists in the streets demanding, err, nothing, we must reject the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and America, basically.

The country is over.

Tucker Carlson lays it out perfectly. I’d like to hear from any left wingers who disagree with my train of thought and explain to me why we should revere Thomas Jefferson.

Naturally, Bill Kristol attacked Tucker for his cogent analysis. Brit Hume came to his defense.

NOTE: Earlier today, the President had it out with the media over this very topic. Here is the full showdown.

Fly – ban these mf’ers without any compunction or apology. They have no line of decency and decorum and only stomp on any that you show them in return. They are here to troll and to troll only – neither have addressed a single point in an article which asks some very pertinent questions, indeed. This is where the internet shows it’s evil side – a bunch of dipshits talking shit they would never say to someone face just because they feel empowered in their mother’s basement. Show them the door.

Tucker is correct, and one could sense his emotion. This is a defining moment of American history. There is no appeasing the left. This extreme polarization is going to end with mass internments of one side or another, and political purges. The conundrum is: how does one deal with such a problem and preserve the founding principles of this country? Tread carefully and choose wisely.

A planned and orchestrated disturbance at Charlottesville has swept through American society like a Tsunami. You can be certain that the seditionists behind this event are planning bigger and deadlier programs. There are more in the pipeline.

Let’s look at the landscape. From various sources one could say there are 300+ Jewish only groups, 190+ black separatist groups, 100+ anti-muslim groups, and hundreds more groups of various types segregated along religious, or racial, or ethnic, or ideological identity. Some might label these as hate groups, whatever that means. Under the moniker of hate, one could argue that today’s established political parties, or many of their PACs, are hate groups – such is the polarization.

So, what of Antifa? Of all the extremist groups, they are clearly the America-haters and here is the litmus test: what better evidence of hating America than sending mobs around the country to tear down and destroy the monuments to those who dedicated their lives, risked everything, or fought, or died to established it.

Meanwhile, has anyone noticed that the ‘so-called’ war on terrorism, that has dominated life in America for the last 15 years, drained the Treasury from foreign wars, led to TSA strip searches, civil asset forfeiture, no fly lists, and so many other egregious practices, has suddenly just evaporated?

The “disturbance” was created by seditionists? My god you are a severe retard. The white nationalists.. AKA Nazi-dick suckers.. weren’t the cause of the riot? The white nationalist who drove his car into the crowd had sun in his eyes and it was just a terrible accident? Please stop embarrassing yourself..

If you want to talk about seditionists..maybe start with Robert E.Lee. Right?

Go ahead, pretend the Antifa & Co. we’re not armed to the teeth and violent, and that the car through the crowd was completely unprovoked.

Anyone with eyes can see it was not one sided and that if the so-called “counter protestors” had not agitated things, it would have been a peaceful protest, even if they were spewing Neo-Nazi bullshit. Antifa and their financial sponsors wanted this, and was going to make sure there was violence. They are already saying they want to get back out on the streets for another round and are ready to violently attack any non-leftist rally, calling them racists even if they are just rallying for something completely unrelated to race like free speech.

The evil left is all about transformation. It’s why they pride themselves on the label ‘Progressives’. They feel it makes them sound so advanced, educated and upwardly mobile when the reality is the changes they impose may not sound so drastic at first. The real truth is they are all about incrementalism. Sure, they’re going after the civil war statues under the guise of ‘racism’ and don’t seem so hell bent on taking out any of our founder’s statues… yet.

They’re aware that taking down of something greater like the Washington Monument is not something the main stream Americans have the stomach for. At least not now. The blow back would be too huge and their cause would then fail. They know they need to boil this frog much longer to attain their ultimate goals, in due time. Incrementalism will destroy our country until all of it’s laws have fallen down a slippery slope of authoritarianism forever.

Learn your history folks. George Washington struggled with the idea of slavery and eventually freed his slaves at will 70 years before the Civil War even started. Confederates on the other hand were willing to go to war to protect their racist system, and lost handily.

Oh and Jefferson too, 60 years before the civil war when the north conquered the evil slave owners, supported freeing and training slaves and he even proposed federal laws banning slavery but it failed to pass by a single vote.

The Confederate Flag was literally raised by a group of real people who actually died because they were repulsed by the idea of being American. They actually raised arms to kill Americans.

Your line of reasoning is as straight as the line in those old Sunday Family Circus cartoons where the kid goes through the park, around the lightpole and through the neighbors’ yard. Next you will be retweeting pictures of George Washington cruising around in Bo and Luke Duke’s car.

It must feel wonderful watching America progress without you. Holy shit, this was a great place once…Would love a ban because this feels like watching a methhead cousin take eight years to die.

I’m one who believes in picking his battles, and I feel this is not a battle worth fighting. The removal of Confederate statues is the removal of treasonous men who attempted to succeed. Not to mention they lost the war. We don’t hang memorials in this county for losers. For that reason and that reason along (they were traitors) should the statues be removed.

Now, The removal of Washington, Jefferson, etc, is completely absurd, yes they owned slaves, but so did nearly 100% of the world at one point or another. Men of yesteryear were barbarbous creatures. Get over it.

Fully agree with this, there could be other monuments to southern heritage, other ways to honor the dead, etc. The issue and blow up over this weekend was over Trumps own response, which he is fully responsible for- equating white supremacists neonazis with the people who showed up to counter protest them, not the statue itself, and giving a national platform to racists and nazis. He appreciated david duke personally in his commentary.

Of course Abraham Lincoln was also a white supremacists- he has to go too:

I will say, then, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races–that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to inter-marry with white people; and I will say in addition to this, that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. (Lincoln-Douglas debate 1858.)

      Some ironies:

Abraham Lincoln put in place the Emancipation Proclamation during the Civil War (1863). But it only outlawed slavery in the Confederacy, not the rest of the United States.

Robert E Lee was against slavery. He inherited slaves by his marriage but freed them. In a letter to President Pierce, Lee wrote that “There are few, I believe, in this enlightened age, who will not acknowledge that slavery as an institution is a moral and political evil.”

Ulysses Grant owned slaves before, during and after the Civil War. In 1863 he stated: “I never was an Abolitionist, not even what could be called anti slavery”.

Lincoln did not free the slaves. The 13th Amendment, Abolishing Slavery, was signed into force by President Andrew Johnson, born in North Carolina and resident of Tennessee – a Southerner. He was later Impeached.

The first Jewish member of the US Congress was from Louisiana, Senator Judah Benjamin, in 1852. He later became a member of the Cabinet under Jefferson Davis. Here is what he pleaded (that was widely reprinted by abolitionists) in a New Orleans court case of 1842:

“What is a slave? He is a human being. He has feelings and passion and intellect. His heart, like the heart of the white man, swells with love, burns with jealousy, aches with sorrow, pines under restraint and discomfort, boils with revenge, and ever cherishes the desire for liberty … Considering the character of the slave, and the peculiar passions which, generated by nature, are strengthened and stimulated by his condition, he is prone to revolt in the near future of things, and ever ready to conquer his liberty where a probable chance persons itself.”

        Holy shit dude

        Continue that letter to Pierce:
“The blacks are immeasurably better off here than in Africa, morally, physically, and socially. The painful discipline they are undergoing is necessary for their further instruction as a race, and will prepare them, I hope, for better things. How long their servitude may be necessary is known and ordered by a merciful Providence. Their emancipation will sooner result from the mild and melting influences of Christianity than from the storm and tempest of fiery controversy. This influence, though slow, is sure. ”

Lee shared the views many held at the time. He held them so strongly he was willing to die fighting for the right to keep those blacks in chains, until God could sort the mess out. What a goddamn joke.

Cricket has previously made the argument that the non-nazis in Germany were the ones responsible for the Holocaust. He condemns them for not accepting this responsibility. This fits his outlook on history and political movements, where subverting historical convention with the gross selectivity of a certain concept or historical artifact, in his case he plops down some Lincoln and Lee quotes, trying to prove his point, that the confederacy fought for he rights and emancipation of slaves and the North, non-seditionists, were directly responsible for all slavery and consequent entrenched racism.

I would recommend a listen to the first episode of Revisionist History by Malcolm Gladwell. There is a real phenomenon by which the achievements and acceptance of one exceptional member of a discriminated group allows the rest/majority to unconsciously or consciously resume its discrimination thereafter under the guise that said discrimination has now been eliminated. All of Gladwell’s work with RH is enlightening, but this one is pertinent to your argument.

Right, because you can’t celebrate certain aspects of these men’s legacies without implicitly or explicitly celebrating all of it? GTFO with this third grade logic. But yes, this culture’s ‘hero worship’ fetish with the “Founders” has long been awkward at best and probably should be shelved.
