Interesting article. They missed some of the issues though.
1) Real journalists, as opposed to Fox News “journalists” are interested in the truth. As the great Stephen Colbert has noted, truth has a well known liberal bias.
2) Not just media but polls also missed the fact that Trump had strong support. How does one explain that? There’s no reason to believe that the polls were biased.
3) Republican FBI director Comey threw the election for Trump, in that last week before the election happened. She probably would have won if he hadn’t done that and then the polls would have been correct. Both candidates were under investigation, but he only revealed that Hillary was. There was also an FBI terror warning right before the election which likely helped Trump.
4) Mainstream media, though they may have technically endorsed Hillary, gave much more negative coverage to Hillary than to Trump. Thus even supposedly Left Wing media like the NYT significantly contributed to Hillary losing.
5) Electronic voting machines can easily be programmed to deliver any desired result in an election, and it’s possible that in red states, they were programmed that way. There is a trade secret law which says that voting machine software can be kept secret from the public. So no one can know what the software tells the machines to do.

Donald and Bill are correct; it was the election of Lincoln that triggered the war. He was an incredibly divisive and polarizing figure that the southern leaders simply could not tolerate. Jackson was a southerner, and had he been alive his election would have unified, not polarized, the country.
The southern suspicions were justified. Lincoln effectively suspended the Constitution, became a dictatorial tyrant and instigated a 5-year war of aggression that led to 620,000 military deaths, countless wounded (and countless civilian casualties) and national scars that penetrate deeply throughout American society today. Sherman’s march to the sea will go down as one of the most evil actions of any barbaric regime in history. This was all done under Lincoln’s watch. This was all avoidable – Lincoln was the wrong man for the task.
