The news hour has become the 24 hour news show and to keep people entertained they have to generate a lot of content. Hard factual based news gets sandwiched in with a lot of talking heads with opinionated commentary, some of it accurate, and some of it based on conjecture, inaccurate, misleading and false.
Traditional news is boring but America has made news great by turning it into an entertainment venue and Trump has been lately its biggest star. They desperately need each other to thrive and all they care about are ratings. Tell me Americans aren’t glued to their TVs and online watching Trump perform in front of the cameras. Trump is generating millions of ad dollars for these networks and the more keyed up he gets all the better.
