But look at this video, starring Musk and his new innovation. I’d gladly welcome a very low solar panel person into my home, if he was offering this product.
As much as TSLA’s valuation is absurd, it truly is hard to bet against a man like Musk.

Last time I looked at it, without offsetting credits, payoff time for solar is decades. Cash flow return on investment depends on usage, utility electric rate and solar energy available at the location.
Because of my job I know about batteries, inverters and switchers. I’d rather not have that stuff in my house. I would install solar panels to power secondary LED lighting in a DC system.
Also, if you are drawing power at night the batteries are going through a daily charge-discharge cycle.
Wouldn’t it be something if Tesla’s long term plan includes substantial revenue from replacement battery sales? Especially if the batteries have a physical shape/fit that is proprietary and long-term warranty and support is voided if Tesla batteries are not used.

Ok we burn the rest of the oil on solar roof tiles and electric cars for 5 percent of world population but then its over. Also there is not enough rare earth metals and earth will be summer yesr round and drought like australia in half globe. Only solution is minimize consumption or world war to thin the herd.
