This is making the rounds right now, after the Wikileaks account tweeted out what seems to be encryption codes for secret documents. Assange had always said that if he were to die, ‘dead man keys’ would be triggered and a deluge of documents would be released.

You might be right. Not keys to unlock anything, just check integrity. But that doesn’t mean they would not have been released as a deadman’s switch for some yet to be known reason.
